Hey whiny Brewer fan, How many games has Prince Fielder missed this year due to injuries? How about Ryan Braun? Sure doesn't hurt to have your best hitters not have to spend a month on the DL and, in Rammy's case, have a nagging injury that forces him to have periodic days off to keep him relatively healthy. It also sure is unlucky for the Brewers to call up Ryan Braun in the last week of May only to see him hit 31 home runs in 3.5 months. Not a big deal. I mean, it's only a pace for 49 home runs on the year. You also have a career year out of Prince Fielder. J.J. Hardy had 25 home runs in 1253 PA's in his minor league career and he's got 25 in 592 PA's with the Brewers this year. And boy are the Cubs lucky that Carlos Zambrano has put up his worst ERA in his six years as a starter this year. And as for single game breaks? How about Rickie Weeks going Albert Pujols on Brad Lidge the other day? Yeah, I know Houston still won the game, but that thing shouldn't have gone into the tenth inning. It's not the Cubs' fault that your team can't win a road series if their lives depended on it. The Brewers are 31-47 on the road this year which is tied with the Giants for 6th worst road record in the majors. All of the teams with road records as bad or worse than the Brewers are at least 13 games under .500 (Texas is the best at 70-83). Your team blew an 8.5 game lead in a little over 5 weeks. EDIT: And the Cubs sure got lucky that they were stupid enough to leave their best catcher in AAA until September. Lucky us.
