  1. Brewers will have Hardy, Gross, and Weeks up in the ninth.
  2. Nix K's. Going to the bottom of the eighth.
  3. At least Ned hasn't double switched out Ryan Braun yet.
  4. I can't believe this. I wouldn't have been surprised if they didn't bring him back for this year but I figured once he returned for this year he would be safe for the whole year.
  5. It's funny actually how people perceive the two different players -- Howard is awesome, but Dunn is terrible. Personally, I'd take 'em both on my team. I think the difference in perception is largely on the defensive abilities of each. Dunn is one of the worst defenders in baseball, Howard is, at least, perceived to be a pretty good defender. Not that it's right or wrong, but I think that's a big factor. I'm willing to bet that Howard would be a butcher if he played left field like Dunn does and not first base.
  6. Ryan Howard is the black Adam Dunn. No seriously: Dunn: .267/.387/.560/.948 Howard: .259/.381/.552/.932 Dunn's IsoD and IsoP: .120 and .293 Howard's IsoD and IsoP: .122 and .293. I also didn't realize that Howard had 181 K's last year and 100 in 88 games in 2005. Too bad he got a late start breaking into the big leagues because he's 600 K's behind Dunn on the career list.
  7. By the way, Andy, I recommend that you wait until the season is over before even looking at a hat from any team store for karma purposes. My editor and one of our photographers had a bet ($20 I think) this year on who would have the better regular season record, the Warriors or the Kings. My editor had the Warriors and had the bet won with a few games left in the regular season. But since the Warriors were still fighting for a playoff spot, he refused to accept the money until the regular season was over. I think he took it before the Warriors' first round series against the Mavs.
  8. Blevins gave up his first run in a while tonight. 0.7 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB against the Mariners.
  9. Not only was it good that Ted Lilly pitched well tonight because it helped the team pick up the win, but this could bode well IF the Cubs make the playoffs and we need him to pitch on 3 days rest. 7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 8 K's is a line I'll take any day and twice on Sunday's. Excellent job, Ted. Also, something I found funny was Lilly's little fist pump after his K of Alex Gonzalez to end the seventh inning. If that was Z he would have been going nuts right there. But all Lilly did was a little fist pump and that was it. Note: I'm not saying I like Ted's reaction better than Z's at all, I was just pointing it out.
  10. I'll take it. Game winning run is 90 feet away!
  11. Pretend you're facing Cubs pitching in Wrigley, Carlos.
  12. If the Astros can't get this run home with Berkman and Lee coming up, they don't deserve to win.
