  1. Thank you San Diego. Thank you very much.
  2. CUBS WIN!!! YES!!! When Milwaukee lost I had a wonderful glass of Johnnie Walker Gold Label to celebrate. Time to buy my plane ticket to Chicago for next weekend. GO CUBS!!!
  3. Oh to heck with it. Musical Chairs it is 8-) Russian Roulette.

  5. Shouldn't be surprised Kendall is in the lineup today. Lou said he would get most of the PT the rest of the way and Len and Bob said they expected Kendall to be in the lineup this weekend against Cincinnati. Like Raisin said, at least Theriot is out of the two-spot.
  6. That was an amazing line from Brenly.
  7. If the Rockies win out the only thing they are assured of is finishing ahead of the Diamondbacks by one game. If the Padres sweep the Brewers, they'll take the NL West with the Rockies finishing a game back. Also, if the Rockies, Mets, and Phillies win out, the Rockies would finished tied with one of those two teams for the wild card.
  8. The Cubs had Ramirez and Soriano out for long stretches and they aren't completely healthy now. Howry and Eyre sucked in the beginning of the year (Eyre for about half the year) but since then they've been pitching great. Dempster missed a month. Wood didn't come back until August. I realize the pitchers don't affect the team as much as the position starters since they don't play as much but it's not like the Cubs have been injury free this year.
  9. The same would be true if they both lose tonight, but I'd prefer winning. I'm actually hoping for that scenerio, because not only would the players be able to properly celebrate, but we'll be able to see all the postgame coverage on WGN (I'm sure there would be an extended 10th Inning show if they clinch tomorrow). Completely agree. I'd like to see the Cubs and Brewers match each other tonight (preferably the both winning since it would mean the Cubs actually got a win) for that very reason.
  10. I thought I remember a commercial or something during yesterday's WGN telecast where Len and Bob said they'll be back here (meaning WGN) on Saturday. Not sure though as I wasn't paying too close attention.
  11. I know it's been said before, but it's so awesome that this game thread is a poll.
  12. Agreed. Lou had a bad three days (yes, I'm oversimplifying it as he's obviously made other mistakes this year) while Dusty was bad every single day.
  13. Metallica - "Fade to Black"
  14. I actually may see if I could score a single to game 1. If you see a good deal on a pair, let me know. I'd be down to go with you. Not a big deal if you can only find a single, though.
  15. Day game after a night game. I'm fully expecting Kendall to be in the lineup the next three days. Also, during today's telecast Len and Bob said they thought we would see Kendall starting in Cincinnati.
  16. Not a chance in hell would Kerry stay healthy as a starter. He is better off staying in the pen throwing limited pitches. I think he'd be fine. Just as Smoltz was fine when he reverted back to starting. Smoltz had nowhere near the injury history Wood has and I don't think you can compare the two situations. Just leave well enough alone with Woody.
  17. Ryan said it was because Brazil was good enough to get shots at close range, and that Scurry was one of the best in the world at reaction saves. He was obviously wrong. I think that's the key word right there.
  18. With two today Howard now has 197 on the year and the record all to himself.
  19. Nah. I want an on field celebration video like 2003*. I've watched the actual video as well as radio call dubbed over the video a bunch of times the past few days. EDIT: * - If the Cubs win the division, that is.
  20. I don't know. I wonder if the Brew Crew is just getting a little tired. It's been a long time since their last day off now. Advantage Cubs. I can't believe the Crew is choking with us losing. It's a double choke! Gotta be a first. It's a choke-off! The great choke-off of '07! Hey, whatever it takes to get into the playoffs. When did this turn into a thread about porn?
  21. Thank you San Diego. Two more wins please because I have no faith in the Cubs to not blow it.
  22. We need to win 1 game, and the Brewers lose 1. And that's all. If the Pads were to take 2/3, which THEY will need or they're in trouble, then we could get swept and still win it. If they lose tonight....then, if we win ONE game, or they lose ONE game, then we are guaranteed at least a tie, correct? No we would clinch the division. It's only one of tho happening. If the Brewers lose today the Cubs magic number goes down to 2. Then if either the Cubs win or the Brewers lose once, it goes down to 1 which would mean the Cubs would, at worst, clinch a tie for the division.
  23. We need to win 1 game, and the Brewers lose 1. And that's all. If the Pads were to take 2/3, which THEY will need or they're in trouble, then we could get swept and still win it. 24. Cubs lose 2-negative eleventy billion.
