  1. Shields is the first pitcher to allow 7 runs before the 4th inning in 4 straight starts. No pitcher had done it in three straight starts since 1894.
  2. NBA on the TV, Cubs on the computer. Watch GoT when the NBA game ends. Of course, I've got the benefit of being on the West Coast so the NBA game will be done by 8.
  3. Not sure where that guy got his list but the 01 Mariners were 19 up after 65 games. Unless he means between 10 and 11 games up, but that would be weird.
  4. Didn't realize how good the A's were in the second half in 2001. They were 35-40 at one point and finished 67-20. They were also 57-50 and finished 45-10, ending the year winning 29 of their last 33 games.
  5. Anyone know an easy way to look up the largest division lead at any point in a single season? I used B-R to look up the division winners last year and click on each one's schedule, which will show the largest lead for that team, but I was hoping there was an easier way. Last year, the Royals had a 14.5 game lead, which was the largest in the league at any point. In 2014, it was Washington at 17 games. Looking at some of the best teams in recent memory, the 04 Cards topped out at 17.5, the 01 Mariners were up by 21 games (and on July 1 after only 80 games) and the 98 Yankees got to 22 games up.
  6. So much for that Mexico unbeaten run.
  7. LOL. Against Jon Niese? Odd post. seriously...that's a GIF to post after like a 3 run homer in a 5-0 game Or for Rondon Fan to post after giving up one run in the first inning.
  8. And Niese has had the same small zone also.
  9. The ump has seemed fine to me. I haven't looked at every call but the 4 or 5 borderline ball calls I checked on Gameday were all correct. Ump isn't expanding his zone and Lester's spotting a couple inches off the plate.
  10. His ERA going into his last start with SD was 3.06. It's now 6.04. He allowed 23 runs in his first 10 starts and 30 in his last 4.
  11. As long as he can throw a baseball, he's better than Richard so adding him to the 25-man by then should be no problem.
  12. ive noticed he's OKAY if nobody is on base I think it was the first out last inning but he said Dex was camped under the ball but then said it was a nice running catch.
  13. I'm honestly not sure he ever made contact with the guy's face. I thought he caught him, but it was very light. Still it was stupid to even do that, just don't put yourself in that position especially when you know your opponent is going down to 10 men. It wasn't much but he definitely caught him. If the ref sees you swing your hand at a guy and thinks you just smacked him in the face, you're going to get sent off.
  14. Yeah, that was terrible. Loved how Landon said the Ecuador dude was lucky not to get a yellow also. I know he's not going to call out his former teammate but what he said was a bit ridiculous.
  15. Assuming their pitching doesn't get fixed, I'd throw LA in the group I wouldn't mind facing since they'd only be able to throw Kershaw once.
