  1. Hell yeah, Strop. Harper comes up with nobody on now.
  2. Joe playing matchups. I bet this will be the only batter he faces.
  3. Yeah, if they call him safe and the Nats challenge, they probably uphold that also.
  4. Did it? I was thinking he was just reacting to the whoosh of air. Like, "whoa, is there a bird landing on me?" maybe. we need a CSI guy to enhance a reflection
  5. I think my favorite part of listening to the couple games on the radio last week was when Coomer was so terrible that Pat would jump in after the play had ended and explain exactly what happened.
  6. Even Spurs were 100-1 to win the title before the year and they would have been a crazy story had they won the title. Yet most people had them as somewhere between the 4th and 6th best team coming into the year. 23 of the 30 MLB teams had odds better than 100-1 and the 4th-6th best were around 12-1.
  7. They're really isn't because of the lack of a postseason. You're betting on a team having the best record rather than winning the title here. Do they put those out for American sports? Like what were the odds of the Braves finishing with the best record this year?
  8. If we're just looking at it odds-wise, it would be a 15 or 16 seed winning the NCAA tournament. Those teams were all at least 2000-1 this year.
  9. For those who didn't see: Javy 1 Javy 2 Javy 3 And somebody mentioned it in the game thread also but all three throws to Rizzo were perfect.
  10. Cubs run differential is now +89 through 25 games. Since 1900, only the 1902 Pirates (+97) and the 1905 Giants (+94) are better.
  11. Except I sort of feel like the CL Finals could be boring as hell with Athletico in it. Hopefully it won't be. Man City better advance tomorrow. I have no desire to watch an all Spanish final again.
  12. I'm in the same boat. I think they'll finish in the 6-10 range or so. They're 14-2 in games decided by 1 goal this year. That's not going to happen next year. Between losses and ties, you can probably take off 10-15 points. They got 11 penalties this year, which is only the eighth time since 2002-03 that a team has taken more double digit PKs in a season. In the year before and year after each of those seasons, those teams averaged 5.3 penalties per season. So you can take off a couple points for that also (there will be some overlap with the above stat). This year was the weakest the EPL has been at the top. City will be better next year with Pep coming in. Chelsea will be better with Conte. Liverpool will probably be better in their second year under Klopp. And you've still got Spurs, Arsenal and ManU. I know they'll have more money coming in between the UCL and the EPL TV money but if the big clubs want somebody like Mahrez or Kante, they'll be gone. So how many of their players they keep will be a major factor as well. I think they'll finish in the 55-60 point range which will put them between 6th and 9th in the table.
  13. LOL. I do love the Cards at 22 though.
  14. It was pure frustration. It's a long season and they could see their title hopes fading against a major rival. Sure, I get that, but it that's Diego Costa stamping on Cesc like Lamela did or assaulting Ivanovic like Dier did people would be braying for significant bans. Clattenburg let it get way, way out of hand, especially in stoppage time. Both guys should have been tossed. Yeah, Clattenburg set the tone early when he didn't card Rose or. Chelsea player a few minutes later. He motioned after the Chelsea one that it was even.
  15. I wouldn't put it that way. They drew on he road against a very talented team that was clearly motivated to not lose. Leicester was going to win the title against Everton next week.
  16. It was pure frustration. It's a long season and they could see their title hopes fading against a major rival.
  17. But I was told mid table teams don't care the last couple weeks.
  18. The eye poke to Costa? That should be worthy of a bonus not a suspension.
  19. So far so good. Odds of a red card being shown in he second half seem pretty high also.
  20. That was probably inside the box but refs rarely give those borderline ones as PKs.
  21. Don't worry. ManU has way more possession, more shots and more shots on goal which means Leicester will pull out a 2-1 win. It would be better if they won the title at home next week anyway.
  22. The only two thumbs down were both Northern California teams and were given by the same writer.
