I’d be quite happy with 3 walks from Chatwood. Even that would be an improvement.

Wish Argentina would have scored around the 85th minute or so just to make things interesting. Oh well. Really nice first goal from Uruguay. Cavani with a cross field pass to Suarez and Suarez with a pinpoint cross to Cavani.

I'm fairly positive StatCast doesn't include wind. Nope. It also doesn't include spin. That one probably had a good amount of backspin based off of how long it hung in the air. A lot of back spin, way up in the air, plus that wind, and it easily went further than 339. Probably the same on Schwarber's. The projected distance is only based off of launch angle and exit velocity. So you'll sometimes see balls with the same projected distances travel different distances -- even in domes, depending on if the ball had backspin or side spin and how much. Well that’s stupid. I feel like it shouldn’t be that hard to figure out where the ball would land if stands weren’t in the way based on the full trajectory of the ball. I wonder what the old hittrackeronline (RIP) used since we used to occasionally see huge differences in the home run distances.

Courtesy of CubmanPi but if you look at the replay of the Russell home run, it said projected distance of 339 feet, which is interesting because the wall in left is 355 feet.

Has Berrios been throwing 90 all game? I thought he threw harder than that and Fangraphs has his average FB at 93.3 this year.

Yeah, 9 new starters for Belgium and 8 for England. Clearly neither team cares a ton about winning the group. Both have seen the bracket, but "less travel" is the official excuse :roll: I think the bracket thing is slightly overblown only because Germany is now out. -Colombia is a much tougher game than Japan, even if James doesn't play. -Brazil is better than Switzerland and Sweden but there's a chance you get Mexico instead. And it's not like Sweden and Switzerland are pushovers. -The semis are probably a wash since you're probably getting a really good team regardless (Spain/Croatia vs. France/Portugal/Argentina). I think I'd rather take the Colombia-Switzerland/Sweden path but it's not way easier than the Japan-Brazil/Mexico path. FWIW, 538 has England at 38% to make the semis while Belgium is at 31%.

Piece of advice for Q: Get the 7-8-9 hitters out. Two of them generally suck and the third is a pitcher.
