  1. I’ll take picking up a game on the Brewers and Cardinals every weekend. I was about to say “the two teams closest to us in the standings” but then I saw the Pirates won so the Cards are in 4th now.
  2. At least make them hit the horsefeathering ball.
  3. Willy missed a meatball on the first pitch and it was downhill from there.
  4. Four pitches, all out of the zone, and Javy strikes out.
  5. If Lester regresses like his numbers say we are really screwed. He will regress (or is regressing based on his last couple starts) but hopefully its to around a 3.50 ERA pitch and not a 4.20 ERA guy. Hendricks I'm not sure how to feel about. It's not like he's lost his stuff, it seems like he has lost the command of his stuff. He will either get it back and go back to being a solid #2 starter or he wont and continue to fade to a back of the rotation guy. If the rest helped Q's shoulder he should be fine and able to live up to expectations. The rest is a mess. Monty has been awful his last 3 starts, Chatwood is a lost cause and I've given up expecting Darvish to come back this year...if he does great. Yeah its quite a mess overall Looks like some of that Lester regression is coming today.
  6. We’re going to laugh at that solo home run in a few hours after we win 7-3.
  7. 4.79 first inning ERA this year. Last year was 5.67. Our worst inning this year is the 5th at 5.27.
  8. Yeah, that was the main one that stuck out to me. The others might be slight exaggerations but at least they’re all really good teams.
  9. When I went to bed after that game I realized I had just experienced the pinnacle sports moment of my life. Only way it could be topped is if my kids or a niece or nephew do something awesome. I was about to go to bed but then I saw this thread. Thirty minutes of 2016 playoff highlights later, now I'm going to bed.
  10. At this point, shouldn’t one of the first things any agent does is have someone go through his client’s social media stuff to make sure he didn’t say anything like this? I mean, I’m not excusing the stuff Hader posted on Twitter. But we’ve had Twitter long enough that I’m sure some of these guys legitimately just put stupid stuff on there because they were 14 and thought it was funny (not that Hader specifically did that). For as much as agents like to control stuff and make sure the public views their clients in the best possible light, it’s amazing that stuff like this still happens.
  11. Yeah, if they’re going to trade him, I’d prefer if he goes to the Phillies.
  12. They actually do a weekly wine share where each player brings a bottle of wine and Joe drinks them all over the next week.
  13. Yeah, that was great. I don't particularly care if Harper's dad was throwing pitches too soon. If you can take that many swings that quickly without tiring out, credit to you. Aguilar tired out, as did Muncy. Harper had 9 homers in that last round with just under a minute left and hit 9 to tie before his bonus time. That's horsefeathering impressive.
  14. Didn't we do this vs the Twins a few weeks ago? Close to it. Cubs has 20 hits, 17 singles and 3 doubles. First 14 hits of the game were singles.
  15. The Marlins had 22 hits against the Nats last Sunday and 20 of them were singles, including the first 19 of the game. The other two were doubles.
  16. So he’s a murderous Adrian Beltre.
  17. Haha. Of course we still turned that one.
  18. I get not wanting to use the same relievers day after day but bases loaded one out is kind of a big spot, even if you’re up 6.
  19. It's really too bad it's raining in Pittsburgh because now we can't tell Brewer tears from raindrops.
