    Hendricks swinging on 3-1 was incredibly dumb. Gant is trying to walk the entire team. I would have take two betting he’d throw one for a ball and if you strike out, oh well. EDIT: And he walked on 3-2 anyway.

    the story is Eriksen called his teammates and asked them to play. Not sure that means they should have. Physically, it would be tough to gear back up tomorrow I think. I do have to say Schmeichel saves that goal 96 out of 100 times . . . That’s true that it could have been tough to play the next day, though PSG (and their opponent) did it in the UCL this year. It’s a tough situation for sure. I wonder if UEFA even gave them the option of playing the next day.

    I can’t believe they actually finished the match today. I know it’s a tournament so you can’t wait a week but play it tomorrow. Finland doesn’t play until Wednesday and Denmark not until Thursday so going Sunday and Wednesday is something teams do all the time in the club game. And if Finland says they want the extra day, move the game to Thursday also. Sorry to the broadcasters if it messes up their precious TV schedule but a dude could have died today. Give the players the night to mentally recover.

    Holy horsefeathers that’s scary. Same thing that happened to an opposing player against Spurs in an FA Cup game a decade ago. I saw that one live.

    Seriously. If he said that in January, it would be way more understandable. But if you don’t think it’s safe at this point, you never will.

    You’ll be more interested for one season until a 9-3 Michigan team gets blasted 55-10 by Alabama/Clemson/OSU in the quarters. Is this really going to distribute the talent better? If a 2nd/3rd SEC/Big 10/Big 12/Pac 12 school in the playoff going to lead them to get better players if they just lose before making the semis 9 times out of 10?

    [tweet] [/tweet] 12 teams is dumb. 8 teams is dumb. Anything that guarantees a spot to a conference champ regardless of their record is dumb. Making unpaid players play more games is dumb. About the only good thing is that it guarantees a non-Power 5 school will get a shot but the negatives far outweigh the positives. This was always inevitable because of money but that doesn't make me dislike it any less.

    Ke'Bryan Hayes homered in the 1st inning against the Dodgers tonight but missed 1st base (the ball barely went out and bounced back on to the field of play so he wasn't sure it went out). The Dodgers appealed and on video review, he was ruled out. A couple questions: Could Hayes, while he was rounding the bases, gone back to touch 1st had he realized he missed the base? If he had already touched 2nd or 3rd, could he have gone back to touch 1st, and if so, would he have to touch 2nd and/or 3rd on his way back to 1st (similar to if a batter on 1st runs and touches 2nd but the ball is caught, he has to touch 2nd again on his way back)? And once he touches home, does he then lose the chance to go back and touch 1st (say someone in the dugout noticed he missed the base but couldn't communicate it to him until he touched home and was on his way back to the dugout)?

    Yeah but if it’s like the Clippers vs Nets it’s not going to feel very novel since they are just manufactured super teams that will wear jerseys that don’t match their historical team colors True. Plus while both play in big cities they’re the second tier team in those cities.

    Just realized we’re going to have two teams in the finals that have either never been there or haven’t been there in a long time. Clippers and Nuggets have never been there. Mavs: 2011 (two Finals apps total) Jazz: 1998 (two total) Suns: 1993 (two total) Sixers: 2001 (only app since 1983) Nets: 2003 (two total) Bucks: 1974 (two total) Hawks: 1961 (four total) In the West, only the Mavs have won a title. In the East, only the Nets haven’t won a title but the Sixers in 83 was the most recent.
