  1. Except he can’t shoot. 8 years in the league and he’s a career 28.7% shooter with a best season of 30.7%. Stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Accentuate what you can do a d stop trying to do what it’s clear you can’t. He doesn’t need to be a traditional center but he needs to cut out the 3’s.
  2. 68.5% this year. He’s not great but he’s not Shaq either, or even Ben Simmons. Simmons can’t shoot at all and Shaq was a center. Giannis probably should be a center also. A more athletic one but he’s 7’. Giannis is a better shooter than Simmons but I wouldn’t say Giannis can shoot.
  3. 68.5% this year. He’s not great but he’s not Shaq either, or even Ben Simmons.
  4. I really thought the dude who had a 4.6 and a 5.1 the last couple years was suddenly going to figure it out again and post a sub 4.
  5. I thought Mourinho was the worst realistic hire Spurs could have made. But this would probably top it.
  6. How do you have 2nd and 3rd with no out and hit into a triple play on a ground ball to the pitcher? This is how: [tweet] [/tweet]
  7. Caratini just hit a walkoff home run. To beat the Reds. Off Amir Garrett. Chefs kiss.
  8. Arizona has now lost 22 straight road games which ties a ML record. They’re already down 3-0 to the Giants today also. Meanwhile, Baltimore isn’t far behind and they’ve now lost 19 straight on the road.
  9. Embiid and Curry were the only two Sixers who scored from the field in the second half. Even in Kobe’s 81 point game, where he scored 55 in the second half, three other players made at least one FG in the second half (sure, two of them only made one FG but that’s not the point). L
  10. LOL Sixers. Blew an 18 point lead two days ago and a 20+ point lead tonight.
  11. [tweet] [/tweet]
  12. Kawhiout for Game 5 and maybe the series with a knee injury and Chris Paul out indefinitely due to health and safety protocols.
  13. They had won 6 of 7 right before these two games.
  14. Legendary KD game tonight. Played every minute and had 49 points on 16-23 shooting, 17 reb and 10 ast. That being said, huge choke job by Milwaukee. Harden clearly wasn’t himself (1-10 shooting including 0-8 from 3) since he only took 2 shots from inside the arc. Milwaukee led by double figures but couldn’t put them away. Giannis desperately needs a post game. There was a possession late where he got the ball in the post with Harden guarding him and he settled for a fadeaway turnaround jumper. There’s no reason he shouldn’t be able to get a layup or dunk there. He’s trying to force becoming a three point shooter and I think we’ve got enough evidence that’s not going to happen. So do the next best thing and learn to destroy dudes inside in the post.
  15. Holy horsefeathers that was dumb.
  16. So if removing the super sticky stuff will lead to an uptick in UCL injuries, we should have seen a downturn in UCL injuries the past few years. Not buying it. Sounds like a pitcher who is angry at what’s probably pure coincidence.
  17. Well this inning is going well.
  18. KB leaves the game after getting hit on the hand so that’s great.
  19. I wonder why they didn’t just do what basketball reference does with the ABA stats where they have a combined column, an NBA only column and an ABA only column.
  20. I wouldn't say more of the regular season is meaningless, it's just a different portion that matters. Instead of competing for a top-4 spot, they're competing for a top-12 spot. The top 8ish teams will be locked in so the games largely won't matter as much to them. And personally, I'd prefer to reward perfection. Of course Illini fans didn't think that game didn't matter. They're a fan of the team. Just like it mattered to Michigan fans. I'm not a Michigan fan and I'm not an Illinois fan. I didn't watch a second of that game and if you had asked me to guess the result of that game just now, I couldn't have told you. So for the national audience, no, that game didn't matter at all as far as the National Title picture goes or even making the tournament. And considering Illinois still got a 1 seed, it didn't really matter at all when it came to seeding either. 30% is an exaggeration. Games between highly ranked teams won't matter anymore because they're both getting in. You're not adding many games that matter, you're just shifting which ones matter. The kick-6 years ago mattered because it ended Alabama's season. In this format they still get in (I think that was before the playoff and I think Bama would have been top-4 but whatever). All of a sudden, that 10-0 vs 9-1 matchup isn't the one that matters, it's 8-2 vs. 8-2. I get that having a bye on the line matters, but it doesn't matter as much as having your season ended. 5 of the last 10 SEC title games featured two teams in the top-6 (by the AP Poll). Those games no longer really matter. Florida finished 7th in the CFP rankings so that doesn't matter either. Go back a couple years further and you can add the two Bama-Florida games right when Saban started. In the Big 10, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 wouldn't matter because both teams are getting in. 2014, 2018 and 2020 would only have mattered to OSU so they could get a bye, but their season isn't over if they lose. We're coming at this from different perspectives, I think. You have a dog in the fight since you're a Michigan fan so you want your team to have a better chance of getting in. Completely understandable. I don't have an FBS team though. I like it because it's different. I like that the title games always feature two great teams. I like that there isn't an 8-4 team that wins it because they got hot for a month.
  21. I always liked the uniqueness of college football. I liked that, outside of that one LSU year, you couldn’t go 10-2 and win the title. I liked that it made every game mean something because you never know if one loss will knock you out. Last year, where’s my incentive to watch the SEC, ACC and Big 12 title games knowing both teams are in the playoff regardless? Or the Big 10 where OSU is in regardless? Sure, Bama would be the 1 with a bye if they win and the 5 or 6 if they don’t. Same goes some late regular season games. But they’re not out of the playoff. I don’t need to potentially see two SEC teams play three times in a season. I don’t need 4 or 5 SEC teams in the playoff every year. I don’t need to potentially see rematches of conference title games a week or two later. I’ll watch the playoff games because they’re playoff games and I’m a sports fan. But how much of the regular season I watch and care about will drop dramatically. I love March Madness but I barely watch any regular season college hoops. What’s the point? That’s what college football will turn into because if you think they’re going to stop at 12 you’re crazy. They’ll see how much more money they’ll make with 12 than they made with 4 and it will be 16 or 24 in no time.
  22. Any team that hangs a CFP participant banner is going to be relentlessly mocked. And I have serious doubts any recruit is going to be more likely choose BC (you can change the school name, I just used it because of the article you posted) because they finished #12 and got bounced by the 5 seed. Or even won that game and then got blasted by Bama/Clemson/OSU in the QFs.
  23. I don't care if they are good. They aren't winning the World Series good and if you aren't going to sign Baez or Bryant or Rizzo, trade them all with Kimbrel before July 1. There is good regular season baseball and there is good playoff baseball. Just like when the Cubs beat up on the Mets in 2015 and got hammered in the playoffs because the Mets have better starting pitching. I thought we’ve all learned this isn’t a thing. Didn’t we all learn it wasn’t a thing like 15 years ago? Make the playoffs and take a spin on the Playoff Roulette wheel. Yep. We might have much worse chances than the Dodgers or Padres but if you can get in, you have a chance to get hot for 4 weeks and win it all. The 2014 Royals had pretty poor starting pitching but rode the Holland/Davis/Herrera trio and were a legendary Bumgarner performance away from winning the WS. Plus, in all likelihood, we’d only have to beat one of the Dodgers/Padres in the playoffs since they’ll likely be the 1 seed and a WC team. Just like the Mets got lucky in 2015 only having to face one of the NL Central teams.
  24. That’s good they gave them the option. I suppose if the players wanted to play then you let them play. It’s obviously a different situation from PSG where they didn’t have alternative refs in the stadium so they couldn’t play.
