  1. He's not on the 40-man roster, so somebody would need to be dropped to make room for him. Fine, I am willing to see Fast Freddie Bynum go. 8)
  2. I'll take the over at 118. I'd take 122 pitches. Cause "dude" this game is too close.
  3. The obscene year not likely to repeat theory is the same with Soriano, no? Yep, although at least in that case you don't have to pay in players to get him. True, but if you go after Soriano, you have to give up prolly 2 draft picks, plus, IDK considering his agent, prolly have to give about $14-16 mill for five yrs. So, IMO, in the long run it is more expensive to go after Soriano then Wells, and their games isn't the far off.
  4. Join. I'm weary of him too, but I'd still rather have Soriano than Lee. What about Vernon Wells? Vernon has made no secret that he is planning to leave Toronto after the 2007 season. I mean over the career, Soriano has posted a .280/.320/.500 season for his career, whereas Wells has posted .285/.330/..481. And Wells is regarded as one of the better defensive CFers in the game, whereas scouts/GMs acknowledge the fact that Soriano can play the position, just not as weel considering his athlethicism.
  5. Personally, the Cubs have the worst strength and conditioning coach (if they have one) and the worse medical staff in baseball. How does one team SUFFER so many injuries in the past 3 yrs?
  6. I wonder if his glove is hitting better than that. :D You know it. Hairston's glove is challenging the .400 mark, as we speak.
  7. Does Rusch know about that place? How about Hendry? Warning: Bad Joke Ahead Waitress to Hendry: How would you like your steak cooked sir? Hendry: I'd like it Glendon. (throws Apples and rotten tomatos) BOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)
  8. Why? Shorter contract, better defensively (even if he is slowing down), equal offensively and overall I like Andruw Jones as a player, moreso then Soriano and Lee.
  9. Don't like Soriano or Lee, I'd prefer Andruw Jones to either of those players.
  10. I see our "HOF manager" is doing another "bang up" job directing this crap.
  11. Link Rob Neyer....the comic.
  12. Agreed. I believe both Marshall and Hill are atleast as talented (and as good as Lilly, at their peaks) as Lilly, and literally the fraction of the cost. Lilly would be redundant. Now, I know this season is screwed up, but what about going after Zach Grienke? He is a frontline young "potential" pitcher, who had some "issues" with the Royals, so I thinking maybe Moore might want to move him now, and start bringing in his kid of players.
  13. Not even close. If JJ was a LF, it might not be as PANNED as it was, I said MIGHT. But as a RFer, the only move that would be considered worst, would be the Cards signing Juan Encarnacion, or the Royals signing Reggie Sanders. JJ has NOT "exceeded" expectations.
  14. The article by Nightengale, is simply a "cop out." It's purpose is to give the people something to talk about, while distracting said people from acknowledging the truth. The Cubs suck. Mabry suck..... White guy Bynum sucked....Black guy Perez sucked.....Latino guy Suckiness knows no color. Suckiness doesn't discriminate in colors. Crappy players come in all colors. And for Nightengale to EVEN suggest that racism has played a part, well......he should be put on a sabbaticial so that he can get a clearer view at what he writes. The Cubs cuurently suck, due to EVERYBODY ineptitude, not just one person.
  15. Jewel, will. Jewel? The singer I'm guessing...."Who will save your soul" You'd be correct.
  16. Cause sombody has to take the place of Nefti Perez as "Dusty Baker's boy" on the team.
  17. I don't think many people are joking. Sarcasm.....I get it.
  18. I will say it again, ARam will be a Cub (on an Adrian Beltre contract) in 2007. ARam knows there isn't a viable option on the free agency market, and to acquire somebody like an ARod in the offseason, would take patience/money/prospects. ARam knows this (or atleast his agent does). So ARam is going to present Hendry two options: 1: Sign me to X contract......or 2: Enjoy signing/trading for a player like a David Bell, Corey Koskie, or a Mark Teahen.
  19. Just to see the hilarity of it, but I would like to see a pie-eating contest between Alfonseca, Rusch, and Mr. Anderson (whoa.... 8) ). The hilarity of the situation would like exterminate all thoughts temporarily.
  20. All joking aside..Nefti, was a cool cat. He never asked to start over Todd Walker or anybody else, he knew what he could do. If Baker started him, he would try his best, if he came off the bench, he would do his best. Nefti knew what his role role. If certain Cubs (or ex Cubs) would have played to their talent level, or to their role was expecting of them, maybe Nefti would not have been needed as much. I'm glad he was traded, but I don't believe Nefti should be a whipping boy, simply because he did what the coaches asked of him. I'm sure this has been mention, but does everybody realize that all participants in the 2B contrevesy at the begining of the yr, have all been traded? Hairston (Texas), Walker (San Diego), and Perez (Detroit). Just interesting.
  21. We still own the St. Louis Cards, and the Cubs should CUT OFF all water in the clubhouse, just to piss off the Cards as they leave Chicago for the final time. Have them leave Chicago in a stinky mood.
  22. He's still just the 18th best centerfielder despite his recent hot streak. man...If we could get DeJesus...that would be sweet. And maybe turn and trade DeJesus to another team for another HOFer 2B, perhaps? 8) Joe Morgan's available? Nah, but I do have a bottle of Captain Morgan available.
