At least the offense showed and the bullpen did their jobs.
Let's take these next two games and leave the capital city of Hades with a split.
Do it Cubs.
I had not thought about that. Interesting.
But with Levine keeps saying the Cubs are trading for a starter soon (does not sound like it will be Alcantara), I wonder if a Suarez and Kelly or Gallen package could be something they are pursing?
Apparently the Cubs checked in on Devers before he was dealt. I doubt they would have traded for him but I think it shows the Cubs are looking for another bat.
I've cooled down. Frustrating series to say the least.
Anybody remember when the Brewers gave up 36 runs to the Yankees then followed that up with allowing 11 runs to the Royals?
Cubs pitching (with some shady defense) has given up 8, 9, 7 and 9 (so far today) runs in the last four games at Wrigley. That needs to change.
The Cubs next day off is on June 30.
If I am not mistaken, he does have an opt-out in his contract.
With that said, Bos just traded away Devers, so I am pretty sure they are committed to Bregman moving forward.
I think Jed talked today or maybe it was yesterday, and he implied that he wanted to acquired a starter sooner rather than later. Not the first time we've heard that but if Alcantara is not going to be dealt till closer to the deadline, I doubt he's a target.
