  1. Why can't Cassie be used in rotation with the rest of the OF? I'm not saying he should start and X benched but what if on Thursday he is in LF, Happ gets a day off. The next game he is in RF and Tucker sits, and so on and so on? I mean what's the point of calling up Cassie if he does not get to play?
  2. This game went as expected. Oh well. On to the next game. Silver lining? The Cubs used less pitchers than the Blue Jays.
  3. Got to get up early so I am going to bed. Good luck to those that will continue to watch this game.
  4. I'm saying September baseball can be weird, sometimes in a fun way. Of course the Cubs can get hot, it is what makes September potentially fun.
  5. September baseball does weird things. Mets can turn it around. The Reds can get hot. Who knows about the Padres, etc.
  6. Not good enough to be an actual contender, not bad enough to get a top pick.
  7. Which means this is still the same 83 win team they have been the past couple of years. Maybe Jed should stop trying to build the roster and give that job to somebody who actually knows what he is doing.
  8. If the Brewers pull a 2008 Cubs, I am going to enjoy it for a long time. I hope they give us a Ted Lilly like gif.
  9. It'll be awhile before the Brewers have this kind of run again. Let them enjoy it. By gawd, they better not slipped up in the playoffs.
  10. I tell you what, if the Cubs do that in your post, I will give up negativity about the Cubs for the rest of the 2025 season.
  11. Sounds like Dolphins players were fighting each other because of the frustration.
  12. They had a 6.5 game lead on the Brewers, although at a much early point of the season. This is the part of the season, imo, you either stack wins or you lose ground in the standings. The Cubs are allergic to stacking wins, so... Don't get this twisted, I want the cubs to make playoffs, but currently they are not convincing me they are a playoff team.
  13. ATP, I am expecting the Cubs to play their way out of a WC spot. So the answer is no.
  14. Yep. I can not wait for that portion of the fanbase to call him the next Neckbeard.
  15. Look at it this way, it is highly unlikely they will have this kind of run in them next year. They'll likely be a good team next year just not obnoxiously good.
  16. Agreed. I also think the players were expecting a jolt at the deadline and were left disappointed. None of the players acquired are bad players, definitely are players that can help but like fans, players were expecting a spicy pickup up. The trade deadline can make or break a team.
  17. When your team is starting to fight each other, it is time for them to see new faces. So come on down, Miami Dolphins.
  18. That series with the Brewers will end the division race and most likely damage the Cubs WC chances unless the players want to put on their big boy pants and prove us wrong. This season is trending, to me at least, towards a bitter ending.
  19. That is not the problem. Extending the winning streaks, is the issue.
