Agreed. If a game is so far out of reach that one team is using position players to pitch, they call the game. No need for position players to pitch. So dumb.

Justin Turner sucked for NYM and Balt before taking off with L.A. and of course Aramis. There are numerous cases of players needed a change of scenery before they take off. I'm not saying to acquire him, just a semi interesting parallel to me.

The last time the Cubs traded for a young, struggling Pirate 3B it turned out pretty great for the Cubs. Just saying.

Most of us were very annoy with the series versus Seattle but that series was still better than the Mets getting curb stomped by the Pirates.

Is Hayes an upgrade over Shaw? If the answer is no, then why are we discussing this? Hayes is a throw in to a larger deal type talent. If he comes with Skenes, fine, I'd take him mainly because Shaw is likely to be in that deal but if Hayes is by himself, he does not improve this team and thus the Cubs should be looking elsewhere.

The way I see that is that the rest of the NLC had to play hot baseball just to stay with the steady Cubs. It would not surprise me if the Cubs division lead is back up to 5 or so by the end of July.

Cubs definitely played like a team ready for their day off. 3-4 against St. Louis and Hou is not terrible but blah.

Brewers and Cards both strike me as teams that will cold in the second half. Just stay in front until then.

I don't hate it but I also believe he was drafted by the wrong organization. I have no confidence that Billy and the Bulls can develop him proper. -

I still believe in Brown. That is why I prefer him going to Iowa and not be used as trade bait. Brown can be a weapon for the Cubs.
