  1. Look at it this way, it is highly unlikely they will have this kind of run in them next year. They'll likely be a good team next year just not obnoxiously good.
  2. Agreed. I also think the players were expecting a jolt at the deadline and were left disappointed. None of the players acquired are bad players, definitely are players that can help but like fans, players were expecting a spicy pickup up. The trade deadline can make or break a team.
  3. When your team is starting to fight each other, it is time for them to see new faces. So come on down, Miami Dolphins.
  4. That series with the Brewers will end the division race and most likely damage the Cubs WC chances unless the players want to put on their big boy pants and prove us wrong. This season is trending, to me at least, towards a bitter ending.
  5. That is not the problem. Extending the winning streaks, is the issue.
  6. The pitching is not good enough to carry this team to the playoffs, so if the offense does not get going I am having trouble seeing a path to the playoffs. Boy, oh, boy I would not want to be Ricketts. Hoyer or Counsell if the Cubs missed the playoffs after the start to the season they had.
  7. Are we sure that anybody on this site will be alive when the Bears get a new stadium?
  8. .318/,500/.409 173 wRC+ over the past week for Tucker. Only thing missing is the power. I'd say, Tucker is waking up. But Seiya and PCA needs to follow suit.
  9. Justin Turner? Really? Not complaining just surprised. The former Oriole walking off Baltimore.
  10. I was being negativity and snarky at the same time. Tomorrow I will be fine.
  11. It as likely as them going 33-19 down the stretch. With that said, let me have the negativity from the loss for a little while. I'll get over it and be fine tomorrow.
  12. Don't forget the Yankees also acquire Jose Caballero (from the Rays) and he made a crucial error that tied up the game.
  13. I sure most teams have been in contact with the Cowboys. With that said, Jerry is one petty man. He will keep Micah under his thumb to the very end, just to spite Micah and his agent.
  14. Would I have like a SP better than Mike Soroka, sure, but their failure to get that pitcher will no affect my choice. The moves in a vacuum were solid and because of that, I gave them a B.
  15. Agreed. Getting flotsam's like Brujan, Pressly, Flexen, etc off the roster is considered a win to me.
  16. I agree. I will go as far and say that I did not say one team get appreciably better than other contenders. Every contender got better but not one moved in front of the rest. I feel like this deadline was more about reshuffling the rosters than improving it.
  17. Not overpaying on a rental is a good thing.
  18. It was Austin Slater traded to the Yankees, not Houser.
