    One of my best players last season was Sarge Jr who I picked up off waivers. The key is finding good values later and even on the waiver wire.

    Fixed. Yeah him too. It was hilarious to see Thabo jump out of Gilbert's way to avoid contact, avoid touching him completely, yet get called for the foul. That's the NBA for you, though. Yeah, it's obvious Gilbert has reached Kobe/Lebron/Wade status.

    Thanks for the warning :D Seriously though, I think the most likely option is that since he's working on his mechanics a little bit, they want to give him some extra time to throw to live batters without the supposed "flaw", and also give them more information against live hitters for them to evaluate. That and usually, you don't want your top guys throwing so many innings. Teams want to give their franchise pitchers more of a chance to get in shape. Marquis isn't as valuable as Zambrano. He's not as fragile as Prior or Miller. And he's not as rich as Lilly. That's the reason he's starting. I believe Shawn Estes started the first spring game a couple years ago. Exactly.

    Revenge game against Stanford at Pauley tomorrow. Also, it's Senior Day, but there are no seniors on this year's Bruin team. I expect the Den to request Arron Afflalo return for one more year quite a few times.

    Some other poster was saying for the past week how pax should be fired because he didnt draft roy. And then make some trade he wanted to see made where we lose Deng to get Gasol paxson is the best GM in the city. And Deng > Gasol Angelo is the best GM in Chicago, and it isn't even close. When Paxson builds a team that can make it to the Finals, then I'd say open the debate. Angelo has been to the playoffs 2 straight years, the Bulls are working on 3. Angelo has been to his leagues respective final round. Paxson has not. With this thought process, Ken Williams is the best GM in the city. He got his team to win a championship. Of course many of his moves have been questionable, but his team won a championship. There are many other things that need to go in to judging a GM. He was drafting brilliantly, don't ask me what happened this last draft. Yes, we know you don't like the selection of TT but it doesn't make it a bad pick. And Thabo appears to be a great find. Just because you didn't get who you wanted (and believe me, I thought Roy was easily the best NBA-ready player in the draft and I'd prefer Brandon to Ben Gordon) doesn't make it a bad draft.

    The no arguing with a ref rule is a joke. I've seen Kobe yell at refs countless times and not even get a T while Duhon gets the double T for that. And how the hell does the ref miss Arenas crushing Duhon with the foul call.

    Is Sammy actually trying to hit the ball to the right side of the field for once? His swing must be pretty slow right now, because Sammy is a dead pull hitter. For once? It's a shame you missed 1998-2002.

    Bulls up by 5 at the half. Thabo and TT getting meaningful minutes (and of course the announcers fall in love with TT's leaping ability). Hinrich went to the locker injured but was back on the bench to end the half; Noc is out.

    The Bulls are 2 games out of the 2 seed, a game and a half out of the 3. Fixating on the seeding of the moment is premature. And the past two seasons, the Bulls have finished the season well. So true. We've already had 2 very long road trips (8+ games in a row on the road) and we have a solid record. Sometimes the negativity is really annoying. This is the best Bulls team we've seen in the past 9 years and some people still aren't happy and try to find every little thing to criticize. Get over it. It's a solid team that is only going to get better. We have some trading chips that can be used in the offseason to make a big move for a player like KG, who could put us over the hump. The East is wide open and we should have a good run in the playoffs. I'm just happy that playoff NBA basketball is back to being a yearly thing in Chicago. Good point (that 1908 keeps mentioning too). Not only do the Bulls have a history of finishing the season strong, they also have an easy schedule here in the second half with no West Coast road trips.

    He's more likely to play at 3B right now, imo. No Orlando Cabrerra blocking him at SS. I agree, but shouldn't they lok at the possibility that the kid can field short at a decent level and could hit 40-50 homers there? You know like AROD vaule. That is still great at third, but not as much so as at short. Oh well, I just hope they let him play when he arrives. Oh and am very greatful we picked Ryan Harvey. Yeah, I agree with you - his bat would be more valuable at SS than 3B. But I think that if he's ready for the bigs, I'd do whatever it takes to get him up to Anaheim. And Wood was a late first rounder for a reason compared to Harvey. It's disappointing, but Wood wasn't on too many team's radars at 6 and Harvey was a potential #1 pick.
