  3. Petition to start a Brewers thread. The Pirates are only two games ahead of the Brewers.
  4. Obviously it depends on whose rankings it is, but I imagine everyone will (should) have him somewhere in the top 30. Maybe someone will sneak him into the top 10. I can't imagine there are many 2016 draft picks in the top 30 and we've seen a lot of graduations, so that will help Contreras.
  5. I've updated the second post in this thread with all Cubs picks. I also included MLB.com scouting reports (which are free), BA's ranking for prospects in their top 500 and college commitments for junior college and high school picks. As players sign, I'll include their bonuses and also include the BA ($$) scouting reports.

  8. This is pretty awesome, especially from a minor league Twitter account: [tweet] [/tweet]
  9. I just didn't think it was worth it in a blowout in the heat.
  10. I do find it interesting they were both sent to the DSL when most 7-figure Latin American prospects start stateside. I wouldn't be stunned if either came back stateside this summer. AZL Cubs season doesn't open for another 9 days and then they're open until at least August 29th. That's what I'm hoping for.
  11. I thought we were trying to conserve Arrieta, Joe.
  12. I do find it interesting they were both sent to the DSL when most 7-figure Latin American prospects start stateside.
  13. Yeah, sounds like it'll take 7 figures and I can't imagine the Cubs have that time of money available. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet]https://twitter.com/ria_martin/status/741719150347882496[/tweet] [tweet]https://twitter.com/ria_martin/status/741739404583043072[/tweet]
  14. Eww, Hatch's head coach is Matt Holliday's brother.
  15. Thomas Hatch is pitching for Oklahoma State on ESPN2 now. Todd Walker (yes, that Todd Walker) is doing color in ESPN2.
  16. Guessing it was the latter moreso than the former. Gotta think Hatch has some leverage as a red-shirt sophomore. Hope I'm wrong. ___ It's a nice crop of arms considering the dynamics of this draft. I guess I'm expecting some college positional players today, guys to fill out the depth chart. Too lazy to check right now, but if Daniel Pinero hasn't gone, he might be an interesting guy to fit in. Piniero went yesterday.

  18. 9th round pick is a college senior. Not sure if they're saving money for a pick tomorrow or some of the guys today.
  19. Cubs 6th round pick - Chad Hockin - is a guy I was interested in in round 3.
  20. Cubs pick Duke RHP Bailey Clark in the 5th. I remember there was some talk of him going in the first early in the year. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  21. Yeah, I expect them to take seniors at least in 9 and 10 to get an additional $300k. I wouldn't mind a Wil Crowe type at this point.
