  1. Reporter Carolyn Hughes, from what Derek's wife has said.
  2. gee, gutsy. who didn't see that coming? Whatever, you wish you had my mad skillzzzzz.
  3. Tomorrow is Angel Guzman Day. Game time is 3:05 CT, click here to find the link to listen to the Mesa game live.
  4. Don't worry the 7th place team in the crappy Big East beat them by 40 points so it should be an easy game for you guys. No game has been easy for UCLA since Rice and SDSU.
  5. I think that anyone can see that the White Sox's success this year is due almost entirely to their lights-out pitching staff. Every pitcher on that team - starters and relievers - has pitched better than expectations (some more drastically than others). I think (read: "hope") Hendry sees this as clearly as we do, and if he does try to emulate the White Sox, it will be their pitching, not their batting, that he goes for. The media folks seem to be saying it's because of small ball.
  6. I'm pretty freaked out about OSU-UCLA, thankfully the game is in Pasadena but still I'm rather worried (OSU went to Berkeley and upset Cal). I'd be sure UCLA would lose if the game was in Corvallis.
  7. 06- Indians. Keep with the AL trend. EDIT: So their WS-victory streak isn't as long as the two Soxes and the White Sox haven't won it all yet, but details... His point was that the three longest WS droughts possibly ending in reverse order. But it's not going to happen. I don't believe in destiny at least where sports are concerned, and I don't think the Cubs will win it all next year, and unless we have a great offseason this year we won't win it in 07 either, making the drought a century. I love this team and I'd never stop being a Cub fan... but... it's just hard sometimes. Like now. I know, it was just my way of noting I didn't think it would be destiny and the Cubs would be next because of that...

  9. I want to laugh at Contreras digging for gold.
  10. These umps better get out of the stadium quickly, with the best of OC's sheriffs/Anaheim PD with them, because their lives are in jeapordy.
  11. Escobar continues to pitch to his one strength - FBs inside part of the plate.
  12. It's going to rain the rest of the way in the game - thankfully it shouldn't be heavy down there.
  13. TOP-10 RANKING!!!!!!!!!! \:D/
  14. If the Cell doesn't draw after a WS, their fanbase is hopeless when it comes to attendance.
  15. If I wasn't dying to see USC beat UCLA by 3 scores before, I am now. UCLA has got to be the most overrated top-10 team I've seen all year. We've been winning ugly the last 3 weeks and it's bound to end sometime, but I'll enjoy this now. Thank goodness we don't play Oregon this year. Personally, I think UCLA has as good a shot as ever to beat USC this year. It's the Oregon States and Arizona States that worry me right now. But you must give some credit to UCLA (especially Karl Dorrell, Drew Olson and Mo Drew) for getting UCLA to comeback despite being down late in the 4th quarter in each of their last 3 games.
  16. That's fine. But this ignores the fact that Trib has allowed the Cubs to spend ~$100 million a year. While we might not agree with the moves Jim Hendry makes, he obviously is already doing what he thinks gives the Cubs the best chance to win. These things won't change if the Sox win the World Series. EDIT: Maybe I should read what Tim posts before posting.

  18. A continuation of the Royal's policy of moving every decent position prospect to first base. Isn't their current top prospect a 3B? Maybe they're anticipating Gordon and Butler being at the same level next year? Billy Butler was moved from 3B to LF this year, apparently he really isn't that good on D. I've read that he too could end up at first base.
  19. I would think some Brave fans wouldn't like Cox because of his lack of success in the playoffs (I wouldn't be one of those if I had to be a Braves fan).
  20. To be fair, the guy was very drunk. I hope he wouldn't have been like that if he was sober. And I have family members who are White Sox fans who are wonderful people - in fact, I'd probably root for the Sox if they get to the Series because I'd love to see them happy.
