    Was Williamson in the pen? I couldn't see the Cubs pen from my location. If that was the case, I certainly was pissed that they didn't walk Drew. Heck, Howry walked Mueller earlier in the game with first open. And I wasn't pleased that Ohman was pitching the bottom of the 9th of a tie game. Williamson was in the pen. Why it wasn't Dempster I don't know. I was a little upset with Ohman pitching the 9th, but there was a long streak of switch hitters and lefties coming up. On the other hand, lefties are 1 for 13 against Dempster so far this year. I thought it was Dempster coming in when I saw the high socks (it seemed like the logical move to make), then I saw the #50 and I was disappointed. Was Z throwing as soft as the Dodger Stadium gun indicated (87-90 mph, topping out once or twice at 92 mph)?

    :D Zambrano in his career at Dodger Stadium has a 0.00 ERA, 0.57 WHIP and a .100 BAA (17.2 IP, 4 G, 2 starts, 22/4 K/BB ratio). Raisin are you going to any games? Tonight and tomorrow night. I've seen Z throw 8 innings of shutout ball each of the last two seasons at Dodger Stadium. Nice. Shouldn't you be on your way? In 10 minutes. I have to meet someone who has my ticket and he's stuck in traffic coming from the Westside. I'd rather not just wait in my car in the parking lot for a while.

    17 :) Mississippi is lucky it's only 7 innings today. :) Smile ha ha The good news: It's only 7 innings The bad news: There's 7 more innings to play after this game! It'd be especially bad news if the Jaxx got Marmol's bat back in the lineup for game 2. ;)

    he is dominating but daytona is high A. he should be going to AA soon i would think with perhaps marmol going to iowa. in that case, it might be the end of brownlie with the cubs. I think you are jumping the gun a little. There isn't a need to move guys around yet after just the 3rd time thru the rotation. I think at the 10 start mark you may see some moves, and that's provided Marmol and Gallagher keep dominating. Gallagher was more dominant to start last year and stayed in Peoria all year. Marmol was dominant, and started 10 times in Daytona. And I don't think Brownlie is just gonna be tossed aside. He will at least finish the year in the organization. I wholeheartedly agree. And apparently, if you're a pitcher in the Cubs organization with the name of Carlos, you can rake with the bat.

    Wow, Gallagher is dealing. Not sure how (raw?), but it sounds like the D-Cubs took a 3-2 lead after 6.

    Hell, already happened to me before. Got put out to RF junior year to make room for an All-American at first base. I'd never played outfield in my life, it sucked. Did get to play first again when he pitched though. Stephen Head?

    Okay, I must admit ignorance here. Where did we get JR Mathes from, and what is his story? -Banghart He's a 16th rounder of the Cubs from 2004, he's 24 now and spent last season at Daytona (here are his career stats).

    Heh, I used that page last year to calculate Sergio Mitre's L/R splits in about an hour (a boring early-morning finance class). I can help if it's just one or two of the teams - especially while I look around for the opposing pitchers for the next day's pitching probables.
