  1. Why? That's what their name was originally. When was that? I thought they were always the California Angels before they changed to Anaheim from the franchise conception. Were they the LA Angels before that? Yep. LA > California > Anaheim > LA I'll be. That must have been before I was old enough to follow baseball. It was in the '60s, when the franchise first came into existance.
  2. Wow, no reason to expect the Cubs to finish better than the Pirates and Reds? I'm at a loss for words.
  3. Thanks! Welcome to the board.
  4. at least this is the last one till next spring.... we get at least 164 games in a row televised and on radio :D It's ok, I had my fun yesterday. Actually got to listen to the game while in the car!
  5. CubsWin, I doubt Billy Petrick will be ready to start the season. I also think Billek and Holliman will start the year at Daytona. Otherwise, nice stab.
  6. The radio information is that there is no radio broadcast. That explains why I couldn't find it!! :(
  7. Orlando Hernandez (2-1, 5.06 ERA, 16 IP) vs. Jerome Williams (1-3, 8.00 ERA, 18 IP) It's the last game of the spring in Arizona for the Cubs. Jerome Williams appears to be battling for the final spot in the Cubs' starting rotation. Can't find the radio information.
  8. MVP?!? That's for Neifi. He was robbed last year.
  9. He should really have his own blog if he promises to limit the time on his computer. That's from the latest Cubs.com article. Apparently Angel stays at his house at times. that would be awesome. "Today I pitch pretty good against the Cardinals, one of them got a hit. Ok gotta go make something to eat." Z would have said something along the lines of, "Next time I will kill him for getting a hit."
  10. You don't know how bad those 2 sentences looks for the anti-TLR argument.
  11. By the way, I'm shocked that 6 of you have voted for UCLA.
  12. We have two - Ced Bozeman and Regional MVP Ryan Hollins (those are the two guys in my sig). Well, Yahoo is wrong then. It has Bozeman as the only senior. And had LSU with none. Your point still stands. While Bozeman is the team leader and Hollins is a valuable inside presence, the team is dominated by freshmen (Aboya, Collison, Mbah a Moute, Roll, Wright) and sophomores (Afflalo, Farmar, Mata and the redshirting Josh Shipp). And the stars of the team are both sophomores.

  14. Ryan Hollins cracking the second round!! I can't tell you how much I hate that mock. Bulls taking Morrison 2nd wouldn't be terrible, but O'Bryant (should stay another year) going 10th to the rockets and McRoberts being a lottery pick? No Joachim Noah? They have Joakim going 14th. But yeah, just say no to Morrison, Paxson.
  15. Did I miss something? Game day audio is slow I'm listening to the real radio station here in LA, so I'm ahead of you. Z does something sweet - his bat is definitely ready for the season. :)
  16. Zambrano Ks Alfonso, 1 away for Garrett Anderson. Anderson fouls out to Murton. Salmon Ks. 3-0 Cubs after 1.
  17. Ryan Hollins cracking the second round!!
  18. About time the Cubs play the Angels when I'm in town AND the local radio isn't playing the other Angels split squad game. As Vance said, it's AM 710 for those of us in Southern California.
  19. This could just be MiLB.com taking a stab at the rosters. I find some of these hard to believe. For example, Brandon Sing at AA and Ryan Harvey returning to low-A? Maybe all the players with numbers are just the players who were on that team's roster last season. A lot of the ones without numbers look right and are in line with recent demotions to the minors (obviously some of the players with numbers are right, like Brownlie at AAA and Marmol at AA).
