  1. Your avatar, for some reason, looks really really disgusting to me until I finally realize what it is. lol wow
  2. I guess I could handle Neifi back if it meant getting CC, but don't expect me to be happy about it.
  3. Their implosion was toward the end. They werent so much bad as the Indians were hot. A combination of the two. They almost blew the big lead but swept the Indians at the end.
  4. Posting it again so it doesn't get lost on the bottom of the page... Levine is on MJH right now Says names haven't been discussed yet, but his Indians source tells him that they'd be looking for Cedeno (to move Peralta out of SS), Gallagher, and one or two of their top minor leaguers. I believe he mentioned Vitters. He expects the Indians to make a move sometime in the next couple weeks with Sabathia. Also mentioned that Sabathia's preference would be an NL team, because he loves to hit and was a better hitter than Zambrano coming up (not sure why this comes into play, pretty sure CC doesn't have a NTC, maybe in terms of an extension).
  5. He just said he expects the Cubs to make a hard push in the coming days/weeks.

  7. I'm pretty sure the forum bleeped those out. It just didn't recognize the word with "ity" at the end. Pretty funny.
  8. That would be one hell of a starting rotation...I don't know if Hendry can get it done. He would have to empty out the entire minor leagues, but I'm crossing my fingers that he can make it happen. It'd be even better without Maddux, IMO. This.

  10. I haven't looked since, but some Sox fan did bump it last night and said he'd take Aramis any day of the week over Crede (and that he probably wouldn't have admitted it had the Sox not just kicked the Cubs' asses).
  11. Which is basically what I said (well, I left it open with the "almost" part). The coaches should be emboldened to pick Aramis to start because he's better (this year).
  12. Isn't Mr. Wonderful from the Mets leading that vote? I'm pretty sure he's (Wright) 3rd. Chipper leads and Aramis is second. That said, I'm almost positive it doesn't defer to the next leading vote-getter when a starter is hurt.
  13. With Chipper looking to going on the DL soon, is it possible we might have a potential 4th starter in Aramis?
  14. It's seriously insane how so many Sox fans lose any semblance of rationality when the name Joe Crede comes up. I wonder how many Cubs fans wouldn't take Pujols over Lee. And that's actually probably not even as lopsided as ARam vs. Crede.
  15. ...than Aramis on a Bulls message board... http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=818240 I sort of went off on a rant and came off as a quite a bit of an ass in the last post, but whatever.... the argument is so ridiculous that it warrants it. Actually, the argument is so ridiculous that I shouldn't even bother making it, but I can't help myself, sometimes. ](*,)
  16. Barry Rozner continues his stupidity....how does a person like this have a job at a semi-major paper in a major market? All his pieces are either Greg Maddux fluff pieces or the most horrendous ideas imaginable. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=212307
  17. Hopefully next year, because it'll take a lot of losses until it goes back around to him. Maybe not a lot, but I'd like the Cubs to go 133-29. Speaking of starting game threads, what happens if the Cubs make the playoffs? Does the game thread starter list keep on going? I've noticed that with the rate the Cubs are playing, I might not start until the NLDS if the Cubs make it. Last year we set up a new rotation for the playoffs with the best regular season starters getting the nod. A lot of good that did us.
  18. Let's just hope that he doesn't have another one till the playoff game thread rotation is set.
  19. The Cards just can't lose. Their bullpen is unhittable. They hold every lead.. ](*,) :)
  20. Honestly ... I'm scared as hell to play them. They took 2 of 3 at St. Louis. Don't be. And we were a bad bullpen decision (Chad Fox) or a couple of dropped fly balls (Sori) away from winning that series.
  21. UMFan brought up the 2001 Cubs the other day... If anything, I'm thinking the 2008 Cards are a lot like the 2001 Cubs, without one of their players having one of the best offensive seasons ever. That team got by on smoke and mirrors just about as bad as this one, maybe worse since we hung around in first place for so long.
  22. They really are. People act as though teams never play out of their minds for half a season and then fade.
