There was talk that he was locating his fastball well enough in his last outing (minor league or whatever it was) but that he was still having trouble locating his change. He might just be working on that today.
Start the thread the evening before the game. Okay, that's what I usually do. Just didn't remember if the Opening Day thread was expected sooner Well, let me temper that just a little. Any time the day before should be fine. Why wait? Just start the thread now. I agree.
Anyone paying attention knows I'm happy about this.. :) With Gregg getting to close and Fontenot getting the 2B (for the most part, at least), I'm 2 for 2 in what I wanted to see happen in ST.
is it really that weird? i wear whatever random t-shirts i have to the gym... shirts that i'd never wear anywhere else (like my pokerstars t-shirt) what they're doing out there basically amounts to going to the gym and working out...
Really depends on what you mean by regular basis, but, then again, I don't see how what you're saying contradicts anything that I said. If you're trying to suggest that he was averaging anywhere near 95, you're way off base.
No for the first couple of months he was with the Cubs he was touching mid 90's on a regular basis. Then toward the end of the season he wasn't hitting any higher than 91-92. That's when he started walking a ton of guys and wasn't missing as many bats. If you look at the data, I'm pretty sure you'll find that his average fastball was somewhere around 92, even during his dominant first several starts with the Cubs.
I was looking up old threads to try to confirm what I posted and noticed this... viewtopic.php?p=1952855#p1952855 Basically the same thing I just said. You should know better. :D
He would throw fastballs anywhere from the high 80s to the high 90s and I'm pretty sure his average fastball velocity when we looked it up was right around 92. It would vary from start to start, too. From what I remember, he wasn't touching 90 as much in his last few starts but when he was really dominant (around when we picked him up) he was all over the map. He'd sit around 89-91 and then dial it right up to 97 for some pitches.
Honestly, no offense intended, and I probably shouldn't even bother saying this, but it crosses my mind every year when I see these threads pop up... Who the hell buys these things and what the hell are they buying them for? Is there much information on there that you can't find easily on the internet? Team hotels are about the only thing I can think of...
I've always heard it as "does it like," but I had the entire foundation of my being rocked when I realized I was wrong all my life a couple of years ago when I actually read the slogan somewhere. It blows my mind that it's, "Nobody doesn't like." Strangest slogan ever.
If they actually managed to beat LA in this stretch they've had lately, to go along with the other teams they've beaten, I'd be pretty amazed. I don't see it happening, though (probably one of the most obvious statements ever).
Does he really? Because his PER tells me he's about average (actually a little above), despite tons of people being convinced he's bad at basketball. Anyway, I'm done. This was a small part of my original post and this "argument" is only a result of you disagreeing with my phrasing. Like I said before, a waste of time.
