  1. Harden and Lou have both said that he'll be ready opening day. And they've been saying all along that Harden would start ST behind the other guys and that they were going conservative with he and Z due to the extra length of ST.
  2. they've won 7 of 10 and are 1/2 game out of the 8 spot. Plus, they have some easier games coming up And two of those losses were in OT. Things are really starting to shape up.

  5. Thabo traded to OKC for either the Nuggets' or Suns' first round pick. Which ever is worse.
  6. That's what I was wondering.
  7. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/1436426,CST-SPT-cubnt18.article Good to hear. Although it's sad that she has lost some vision, it's good news.
  8. He probably posted it under the name Kosuke1 or something like that.
  9. There's a chat on HoopsWorld.com going on with a lot of stuff flying right now. We'll see how legit they are. So they're going with it pretty hard. Could just wind up like the day OH reported the Roberts deal as done, though. Crazy owner involved too. :)
  10. Apparently, Stein also added the caveat that a dark horse could always pop up and that the Suns aren't completely enthused by the offers. I still think that's just a negotiating ploy and that the idea that they'd hold on to Amare at this point is a bluff. The owner seems dead set on getting rid of him, and from what I've gathered, he's a pretty stubborn guy. Anyway, this is from HoopsWorld, so take it FWIW.
  11. Apparently, Marc Stein was just on ESPN and reported that the Bulls are heavy favorites for Amare and that the Porter firing is costing the Suns $4M.

  14. I don't buy that nonsense for a second. Debating the pros and cons? At this juncture? Riiiiiight.
  15. I posted in the RealGM thread that that makes no sense. If they were trading Amare for salary reasons all along, it makes no sense to wait until the offseason. Same goes for the rumor that they may want to keep Amare and go more uptempo again. They were never trading him for basketball reasons, IMO.
  16. http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/ This blog was the first to report Porter would be fired a few days ago, FWIW.

  18. Yea, that beard is almost as bad as Z's stache.
  19. and since ownership isn't changing in th near future, it's hardly worth constantly bringing up. except when people are bashing Paxson and the people bringing it up believe that ownership is actually more responsible for the things Paxson is being bashed for than Paxson himself. then, it's more than hardly worth bringing up. EDIT - damn... didn't see that I was beaten... by a good margin too
  20. A bunch of Cavs posters at the Cavs RealGM board seem to believe Amare is headed to Cleveland based on some, apparently, reputable posters. That said, the Cleveland offer is basically a joke and the only way that is going down is if there's some behind the scenes nonsense. There were some suggestions that the Cavs' owner is willing to scratch Sarver's back in some real estate dealings or something to that effect and that this would somehow not be against league rules. I don't really buy it, but I figured I'd pass it on to whoever hasn't been following the saga. This alleged Cleveland deal would also, btw, require some sort of opt out by Wally Szczerbiak (who would be sent to PHX) which would result in him leaving millions of dollars on the table. Otherwise, as I understand it, Wally's contract wouldn't be attractive to PHX. So yea, as of right now, the whole thing seems really far-fetched, even more so than I believed before I typed it out. Anyway, here's the latest news from legitimate media. Hollinger's all star notebook...
  21. How do you get to AZPhil's pictures?
  22. I don't understand this at all. The Cubs are clearly the best team in the division. They've even added distance between them and the next best team. How can you not be excited? This team on paper is better than last's years team at this point. how the hell is this year's team better than last years Last year's team at this point had Pie in CF and Fuku in RF, and didn't have Rich Harden. This year's has Rich Harden, Bradley in RF and Fuk in CF. Granted, DeRosa gets most of his AB's replaced by Fontenot and there's no Wood, but I'd still take this team with Bradley and Harden over the one we opened with last year. The team performed a lot better than you would've expected at this time last year due largely in part to Edmonds (granted, nobody expected Fukudome to tank that badly) and Dempster. As for Dempster this year, I'm clueless as to what to expect, but hopefully he keeps it up. What's the point of comparing this team to the opening day team of 2008 when the team was way different at the end of the season? We all thought they were like an 85-90 win team at the beginning of the season last year. We should be comparing this team to the team that actually ended up existing...which is the 97 win team. The point is that he said we're better on paper than last year's at this point. His idea was that you shouldn't be any less excited about spring training given that. It's pretty much the best team we've gone into ST with on paper since maybe 04. Granted, that doesn't take into account the role that the playoff disappointment and the disappointment of losing two fan favorites (who also happened to be pretty good players) and the fact that this team is probably not as good as the one we finished last season with, but I thought he made a decent point. All that said, I am no less excited for this year than I am for any other year. I love this.
