As a fan of basketball and of the Bulls, I would get fun out of watching any extra Bulls games, let alone playoff games. *shrug* Playoff games are fun... especially if the Bulls make a run and play well down the stretch and look like they have a chance to win a few games and maybe a series. I can enjoy watching my teams even if I know they don't have much, if any, chance to win a championship.

Hollinger's ranking system has the Bulls 11th in the NBA and 4th in the East. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerranking I could pretty realistically see us making it all the way to the 6th seed. Let's hope they don't have a let down here, as the schedule sets up nicely for them to really pick up steam. I love the versatility with the new roster.

It's probably good that you're not that excited for a meaningless (and incredibly boring) spring training game (although it'll be fun to listen to an inning or two after all this time). If you're not excited come Opening Day, that's when you talk about your spirit being broken. I think it's got more to do with being older than any heartbreak from last year, anyway. 10 years ago I would listen to the whole games and get just as excited/pissed as I would for a regular season game. That seems completely ridiculous to me now. But time went a lot slower back then and I guess the offseason seemed a lot longer than it does now. Before I know it, it'll be real opening day. Meh.

I'd like the idea of getting Rose a taste of the NBA playoffs right away and maybe even some minor playoff success, similar to Wade's rookie year. That's worth more to me than a few draft slots in what amounts to a pretty weak draft.

John Dewan made a pretty good case for why Dempster would continue to be a good starter and for why last year wasn't a fluke on WSCR early in the offseason (around the time he was in negotiations to re-sign), but unfortunately, I have almost zero recollection of what his argument was. -

Harden and Lou have both said that he'll be ready opening day. And they've been saying all along that Harden would start ST behind the other guys and that they were going conservative with he and Z due to the extra length of ST. -
they've won 7 of 10 and are 1/2 game out of the 8 spot. Plus, they have some easier games coming up And two of those losses were in OT. Things are really starting to shape up.

There's a chat on HoopsWorld.com going on with a lot of stuff flying right now. We'll see how legit they are. So they're going with it pretty hard. Could just wind up like the day OH reported the Roberts deal as done, though. Crazy owner involved too. :)

Apparently, Stein also added the caveat that a dark horse could always pop up and that the Suns aren't completely enthused by the offers. I still think that's just a negotiating ploy and that the idea that they'd hold on to Amare at this point is a bluff. The owner seems dead set on getting rid of him, and from what I've gathered, he's a pretty stubborn guy. Anyway, this is from HoopsWorld, so take it FWIW.

Apparently, Marc Stein was just on ESPN and reported that the Bulls are heavy favorites for Amare and that the Porter firing is costing the Suns $4M.

I posted in the RealGM thread that that makes no sense. If they were trading Amare for salary reasons all along, it makes no sense to wait until the offseason. Same goes for the rumor that they may want to keep Amare and go more uptempo again. They were never trading him for basketball reasons, IMO.
