  1. That said, Hester is a pretty decent #2 next to Knox and we have a ton of speed at that position.
  2. Hester is not in the slot because Lovie and/or the organization is cramming Hester as a starting WR down Martz's throat. When Martz first got hired, he talked about how great Hester would be if utilized differently (e.g. the slot, the Hakim role) than he had been. Hester talked about playing the slot and the time off the field allowing him to put more of an emphasis on returns again... ...until Lovie stepped in and Martz's tune changed entirely shortly thereafter. It's all about Hester's salary.
  3. Lets keep this stuff in the Bears thread. It's all fun and games in there, but there's no need to take it outside of that. Then tell him to keep the stupid Aaron Rodgers gif off the Bulls thread. What?? It's his sig. I don't care either way... but it seems a bit strange for it to be okay (and not what Old Style said) just because it's his "sig." What if Old Style's sig just said, "It's hard when they keep talking about the Bears beating the Packers and being the only undefeated team in the NFC," or whatever. I'm not saying I don't see the difference, but it is a little bit of a strange distinction, especially since that Rodgers GIF is from a deciding play in a Bears/Packers game. But it really doesn't matter to me.
  4. Did the Packers lose on Monday or something?
  5. I'm pretty sure the Packers gave them those games though. I don't know what's more hilarious to me. Bears fans acting holier than thou to Packers fans right now, or Bears fans fellating themselves over one win. Or fellating themselves over 3 wins vs: the Lions in which they needed a BS call to negate the game-winning touchdown, a win over an unimpressive Dallas team, and a game where they needed 150 free yards to barely beat the Packers. Start printing those Super Bowl tickets! you sure are cockier than the guy i see in any cubs related thread... wtf?
  6. No idea who Rod Wilson is and no idea why Chris Williams wasn't starting. weird I thought the part about Williams was incredibly weird too.
  7. I'd put 2005 ahead of 2008. 2008's offense was barely better than 2005, while the defenses don't compare. Yea... I have 2005 either right behind or right ahead of this year's team. it remains to be seen for me.
  8. Didn't the Packers beat that team twice that year? :) Yep. The other loss was a close game to the defending champion Ravens at Baltimore in the opener, IIRC.
  9. At this point, it seems more like 2001, when we went 12-4 and got demolished by the Eagles in the playoffs. 13-3 but i don't agree... this team is a lot better than that team was if i had to guess... among decent bears teams of the last 10 years... i'd put them something like 2001<2008<2010<2006 I didn't leave out the 05 team, I'm just having a really hard time placing them and deciding whether i'd put it ahead of this team or not... the offense was abysmal but the defense was fantastic. I'd like to see how we do in a few more games against some lesser opponents the next few weeks (asI still consider Dallas to be a good team). I'm hoping to see us be able to dominate some of them.
  10. I was at this game btw :-)
  11. The Bears didn't really luck into wins that much that year... the closest you could say was the game at Minnesota that was the first hint of Bad Rex, with the game winning TD to Rashied Davis... and then there was the Arizona MNF game which was in your face Bad Rex.... but those games were mixed in with completely destroying @GB, Detroit, Buffalo, and the defending conference champion Seahawks on national TV. When that team had Tommie and Brown healthy, it was really freaking good.
  12. I disagree. The Bears have had some VERY offensive coordinators in recent years. Just not the meaning of the word "offensive" that you were thinking of. :D what do you mean by very offensive? hasn't the bears offense struggled in the last few years? hahahahhaha this one is the winnar IMO
  13. I know. I'm not comparing them. I just thought it was funny that I had that graphic still and that it applied so well.
  14. Oh, man. Can we just freeze that screen for all time? =D> It is nice, but... lol http://home.comcast.net/~davhern2/Grossman.jpg
  15. Peter King has the Bears 7th, LOL

  17. I just don't think we'd get him. Maybe if we paid Lilly, I guess.
  18. georgeofman Lilly to Dodgers.Names to consider from LA: Ron Ely and Dee Gordon SS top prospect 15 minutes ago via web georgeofman That would be John Ely 5 minutes ago via web huh?
  19. Should probably take into account the context of Starlin's walks which likely inflates that IsoD and OBP.... 17 of his 20 walks have come in the 8th spot while a bit under half of his PA's have come in that spot. How many times have we seen Starlin either be intentionally walked or blatantly pitched around? I know, I know. Sample size... but for that same reason, I don't think his rate stats are really representative of his plate discipline at the major league level at this point.
  20. Last year's team could've easily been in the upper 40's in wins with good or even neutral injury luck. I'm almost positive they were on pace for 50 wins as late as February (but then had that massive losing streak kill that). The primary reasons for that success were Rose, Noah, and Deng. This could be a really good team next year, especially if they have some good fortune in the health department.
  21. Aramis has been killin it.
  22. with the team he has. i said lebron needs more. I know this is going to turn into an argument but.. The Cavs have more than the Bulls do in talent right now. lol
  23. They can sign both with a little maneuvering. Signing all three takes some creativity and giving up Noah or Rose as sweeteners. Rose is untouchable. I'd give up Noah in a heartbeat if it meant we can have Lebron, Wade, and Bosh. I'd trade Rose before I'd trade Noah... You don't need his abilities at that point and it makes more sense financially down the road since Rose is likely to get a max. I'm all about just loading up as much talent as possible with no regard to fit, but in this extreme of a case, It's an excess that isn't necessary.
