  1. In fact, the argument might make even less sense in Cashner's case, since they've been in the process of converting him from a reliever to a starter and, I'm guessing here, he probably has less wear and tear on his arm than your typical SP prospect.
  2. Starters should just come up as relievers because they have a finite amount of pitches in their arms. :-)) :-))
  3. Wow... if that isn't one of the best examples I've ever seen of pulling an argument out of your ass just to argue a crappy perspective... :-)) :-))
  4. What an unbelievably (and intentionally) annoying edit.
  5. People vastly overstate how bad every move actually is. Give me a break. I never bitch about the Cubs' moves. I even was one of like two people who supported letting Kerry Wood go. This move, however, is just horrific.
  6. He's not getting any younger. He'll be 24 when this season ends. No matter how much you want to downplay it, it makes no sense to do this just as he's dominating as a starter. You can justify it all day and you can probably make a good enough case that it's "no big deal" or that it isn't that bad. But there is definitely no defending it as a good move. It's completely illogical and completely desperate. At best, they're delaying his development to fill a hole on a team that isn't going anywhere in an attempt to save their jobs. Or, better stated, the chances that this team is going anywhere, combined with the chances that this move is the quick fix they're going to hope it is, aren't nearly worth delaying his development.
  7. Except the Cubs are in the process of turning him into a starter, he's doing a damn good job, and now they're screwing with it for no good reason. It's not like he has a well established history as a starter. He needs to keep doing it and keep being successful at it.
  8. Are you kidding me? Just as he's dominating AA and AAA as a starter? What a hideously stupid and desperate move. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/05/cashner-moves-to-bullpen-in-iowa.html
  9. Martz has been ridiculously over the top with his praise of our players... it's really bizarre...
  10. Downplaying but not denying, which I found pretty curious.
  11. Stolen from RealGM Those TS% splits from after the injury and from the second half are freaking sexy.... Flirting with elite. 54 game span with a 55% TS and 27 with a 57.3%
  12. Troll hat on Last time these two matched up - http://www.nba.com/games/20100413/BOSCHI/gameinfo.html#nbaGIboxscore :-" :-" /troll hat
  13. And Rondo is really overrated defensively because of his steals and the way he gets to play (gamble) with his team's help defense. I love how Rose torches him worse than he torches anybody else almost every time they play. (And yes, I'm aware that Rondo has had some good games against Rose, but nobody here is calling Rose an elite defender)....
  14. The only way you can think Rose isn't significantly better than Rondo offensively is if you are looking at Rose's overall numbers for last season and not what he did from mid-December on, once he was healthy. And he only got better and more efficient (while scoring more) as the season wore on.
  15. I think 85 is about as good as it will get, and that means the bullpen has to stop sucking and Lee and Rammy start hitting. If that actually happened, I could see 90 wins fairly easily.
  16. Money. Toronto can sign him to an extra year and more money.
  17. IMO, the Bulls will need to include a third team in that deal if they have any desire to get both James and Bosh. The key will be to get rid of Hinrich and Deng as quickly as possible without taking on too much contracts. You can sign LBJ and do that deal...I think. That would be the point of taking Hedo's deal.
  18. Someone on RealGM posted this one as a possibility... Deng, Kirk, JJ, and Taj for Bosh and Hedo

  22. I don't really think we need Calipari to bring Lebron here... Frankly, it's a positive for us if he doesn't leave, because at this point I'm worried that the Cavs hire him and that that is enough to get him to stay.
  23. For the record, idiots, I would have just as soon not made a game thread this early.
