    Look at Rose's numbers from December on (which is about the time his ankle got better)... and then from around the all star break on. They are pure beast mode numbers... he just kept getting better and better as the season went on.

    Not everyone can be as deadly from the perimeter as Rose. Rose was one of the best mid-range shooters in the league. That's definitely aided by the fact that every jumper he takes is pretty open, but that's not going to change as long as he can get to the basket the way he can.

    While that's true, and I don't think he's going anywhere, we seem to have plenty of guys on this team that can more than handle kick returns.

    Pretty much. All I've read was that he graded out very poorly last year, despite the fact that he made the Pro Bowl. There's a reason the Jets released him.

    Really? Harris was a quality (though not great by any means) safety for the Bears during the Super Bowl season. When he was traded, people didn't hate it because we still trusted Lovie at that point, and were kind of rolling with the Adam Archuleta idea. It was pretty clearly a mistake in hindsight. Pretty much. It's really selling him short to say that he showed nothing.

    It sucks that I can't fully enjoy how beautifully this game is going with the stupidity that took place earlier today in the back of my mind.

    maybe he'll change his mind before it happens like he did after he said that dempster would be starting in 07. then again, that was more of a vague hint than an announcement.

    Unfortunately, in reading a couple of other message boards I frequent, there are a LOT of people that think this is way overdue. My guess is the average Cubs fan thinks that Z and Marmol both should be sent down and are ecstatic Hill is playing so much because he plays the right way. Why do you frequent such message boards?

    Did Pat Cline ever even make it up? I feel like he may have gotten a cup of coffee at some point.

    Brings back memories... I used to pick up this magazine when I'd go to the games... I remember finding out about Wood in like 1996 when I had never heard of him. Him and Pat Cline were the battery of the future.

    Yea... I had originally heard early May, as well... and that he had been (and, presumably, is) ahead of schedule.

    Show respect? Give me a freaking break, what a stupid comment. He sucked last year. He was grossly overrated due to his ties to the Yankees and all the morons who get giddy about 40/40 nonsense. He has a horrible approach at the plate and was always a terrific candidate to fall apart with the Cubs. I can hate him if I want to. Yea... I can safely say I wasn't a fan of Alfonso Soriano, the player, long before we gave him lots of money. That doesn't mean he wasn't productive. I just hated and hate his game.
