they overachieved pretty greatly in 2008 and most of the key parts are two years older. the offense isn't awful but it's not good either. i don't think the cubs are bottom-of-the-barrel bad but i have a hard time seeing them be as good as the cardinals and the third best out of the braves/phillies/dodgers/rockies/giants. i tend to agree, but even if you put them somewhere between 08 and 09, i'm glad to take my chances with this team and I like the starting rotation a lot (with Lilly). the offense might not be great, but it can easily be good enough.

He just expressed his opinion on the ballclub. People read way too much into things around here. you think you're "woe-is-me-the-cub-fan" schtick isn't a seriously old?

You say underachieved. I say age began to catch up with them. Outside of Soriano, who can you really say that about? Derrick Lee had probably his second best season... the downgrade in performance from 3B was a result of Ramirez being out two or three months.

or i said that your first premise is extremely flawed, at best... forgive me if i don't want to count us out with potentially 4 very solid starters and an offense whose key members mostly made up a team that led the league in runs two years ago and underachieved greatly last year (resulting in an 83 win season).

as a 19-year old in AA, he walked 28 times in 162 at bats and only Kd 19 times. His OPS was 1057 there's no chance he isnt a blanking stud yup... people are acting like we're being victor diaz or jeff blausered here.

That was a terrible call but in the grand scheme of things wouldn't have mattered anyway. Because the rest of the game would've gone exactly as it went if that inning had gone differently.

Not true. It could just be that he expected to hate it and doesn't. People say, "I don't hate it," about things that they are surprised to like all the time.

Or he might've meant "the pictures are iffy" in the sense that the pictures we have of the area aren't the best, but that as far as he can tell, he likes it.
