  1. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/03/cubs-want-huge-lit-up-billboard-at-wrigley-field.html I am for the added revenue and for screwing over the Horseshoe rooftop. I do wonder how this'll affect the views of the rooftops, though, given the fact that they're sharing profits with the team.
  2. Deng has been playing like crap even when he has been playing recently because he's been playing hurt.
  3. BTW, I sort of like where Ricketts mentioned that we've been in the right place 2 of the last 3 years by getting to the playoffs and that we just got unlucky. It suggests to me that he's got the right mindset in that regard.
  4. Yea, I've seen them before... just meant I hadn't heard of them being put in the bleachers before this. I actually thought it was funny that Kenney talked about them like he hadn't seen them before... I loved those things 10 or 15 years ago when I would go to GA as a kid.
  5. I def recommend reading the BCB interview I posted of Ricketts and Kenney. Lots of awesome in there.
  6. Another interesting quote... BTW, I sort of like where Ricketts mentioned that we've been in the right place 2 of the last 3 years by getting to the playoffs and that we just got unlucky. It suggests to me that he's got the right mindset in that regard.
  7. This quote from Crane is interesting. I know he's referring to BCB but I would think it's not crazy to suggest he might read here too even though we barely talk about the Cubs anymore. Yea, I would bet they check it out from time to time. I'm sure Tim knows.
  8. lol, hadn't heard of this one before... couldn't be bad I guess
  9. I know Yellon isn't exactly everyone's favorite guy here, but I stumbled onto this and figured I'd pass it on. http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2010/3/12/1368720/bcb-interview-tom-ricketts-and
  10. Or of Marlon Byrd or Soriano or Fukudome just suck... pretty good chance that at least one of those happens. Not that I think we're getting Sizemore.

  12. Anyway, these three off days come at a good time... hopefully Deng and Rose can be back for the game against Memphis, although I'm really not sure how far away either is.
  13. 7 in a row, with three more against playoff caliber teams (two of which are on the road) and still will not have Deng or Noah, and maybe Rose. Yeah, it is all over by the complaining. Anybody who uses the Bulls and playoffs in the same sentence are being disingenuous. Even in the east, the Bulls lineup couldn't be an NBDL All-Star team, much less an NBA team. Oh well, at least baseball is here. So the Bulls, who have been struggling while missing 2-3 of their best players, have no chance to make up a 2 game gap and get back into the playoffs. Good to know.
  14. this is such a beautiful thought.
  15. Seems like the Pirates would have been much better off promoting Ramirez when he was ready at age 22 instead of rushing him up at age 19. They could have gotten more production out of him or perhaps more from the Cubs in the trade. Can't a lot of his poor production be linked to an ankle injury, though? Pretty sure that was his 02 season, after his very good 01.
  16. Why so desperate to get Jeff Baker into the lineup? I wouldn't see him getting into a platoon with Fuk over Nady...esp considering Nady should be full speed by June. Is Nady healthy, if so let him play. not quite nonsensical enough

  18. This is the thinking I'd use. And only would I consider calling up Castro if he's absolutely tearing up AAA pitching and Theriot is struggling. You don't want to rush a prospect with the potential Starlin has. More like Baker/Fontenot, but otherwise, I agree.
  19. Ah and there are like 10 other people answering before me.
  20. Wasn't he initially acquired via trade? I thought the Cubs dealt Miguel Batista for him. Yup.
  21. I had completely forgotten Henry Rodriguez existed. He was awesome in 99.
