  1. ZachZaidman The courtship is on at Halas Hall. I'm told a couple of limousines are parked right outside the building. Important people are visiting. less than a minute ago via TweetDeck
  2. He's saying that Bears + Orton/Grossman had pretty much the same personnel as Bears + Cutler.
  3. I think 1 year is way too soon to call a 26 year old player who has shown the ability to be a good player in this league a bust of an acquisition, but what do I know.
  4. in case anyone wanted a little more reason to feel confident... Adam_Schefter Barring any complications in Chicago, the Julius Peppers deal gets done and announced with the Bears by Friday afternoon. Schefter is awesome, so take that fwiw
  5. With the Bears having all but signed Peppers, I'm surprised there's not more going on here. Are people that worried about jinxing it or did they just go to sleep thinking we had lost out?
  6. vxmcclure23 Lovie Smith just touched down in Charlotte to meet with Julius Peppers and his agent, Carl Carey. Smith will fly back to Chicago with them.
  7. salmons had been playing well after a very slow start and is playing even better for the bucks. not that i'm siding with anyone in any argument that might be going on here.
  8. With what I've read on Rolle since reading TT's post, I'd rather lose out on him, especially at the money he's asking. Hopefully we go after Atogwe now.
  9. DavidHaugh Vaughn McClure reports Peppers to visit Halas Hall Friday. It'd be a shock if he left without an agreement. Rod Marinelli just got smarter.
  10. skjensen Chester Taylor to visit Bears on Friday, league source tells me. Check out full post at S-T Bears blog. http://bit.ly/cGdWC1
  11. BradBiggs Tribune's Vaughn McClure reports that Julius Peppers will visit Halas Hall later today, today being Friday. Deal could be imminent. less than 5 seconds ago via web
  12. vxmcclure23 Defensive end Julius Peppers has agreed to visit the Chicago Bears on Friday, according to agent Carl Carey. The Bears are the front-runner. less than a minute ago via web
  13. BradBiggs Real optimism brewing at Halas Hall right now. Free agency opens in 10 minutes and #Bears believe they will land Julius Peppers.
  14. No pics of Starlin?
  15. He's good enough that they franchised him in 09. From his wiki
  16. Any interest?
  17. hmmmmmm
  18. Flied out in his first at-bat, made some sort of contact out in his second. I only recall one ball hit to him, which he fielded cleanly. "wicked line drive" to 2b according to pat
  19. Yeah. I'd like to see him make the team over Fuld, though. I don't see him as anything more than a fourth OF anyway, so I don't think there is a lot to be lost by not leaving him in the minors for seasoning. Even if he tore it up in AAA and got called up, he's still be behind Nady even if something happened to Soriano. For him to get significant AB's, Soriano and Nady would have to go down, which is possible. If an increase in power led to some pitchers being more careful with him and him becoming more patient as a result, I could see value in giving him another year of work. I think I'd rather he play everyday until somebody in front of him gets hurt at which point he might be a better option than Fuld to start. Yea, that's the one way I could see things working out for him long term. Or if he just learned a better plate approach at some point.
  20. Isn't FWP available? He has put up around 4 yards a carry with a pretty shoddy line.
  21. He was referring to AP, pretty sure.
  22. Castro with a "wicked" line drive to EPatt
