  1. the part i don't like is when news stories from the AP or CNN or whoever use reactions from twitter. then you have idiotic things like "OMG, can't believe U R gone!!!" in a news story about a death of a celebrity. otherwise i don't have a problem with it. I agree. Otherwise, I sort of like Twitter. I never post anything myself, but it was pretty cool using it to follow Bears training camp and getting all the updates. I could see it being a similarly good way to follow spring training now.
  2. lol wat
  3. Seriously.
  4. Seems like you're pretty much just trolling at this point. Let us enjoy our fluff piece in peace, damnit.
  5. It's in there.
  6. Varejao and probably Williams are more valuable than Rose would be on a team with LeBron. i have no idea how you can say this. noah is better than verajao and williams is nowhere near rose, unless you're saying lebron prefers playing with inferior players. I'm saying LeBron prefers playing with guards that can shoot better than 25% from 3, because so much of his game is predicated on getting to the lane. There's still another guard spot. You could put JJ Redick there for all I care on that team... or you could keep Hinrich there. I think I'd be ok with that. Theoretically, you can trade Salmons to make sure you have the cap room clear for a max contract, and then sign LeBron, do nothing else, and you'd be left with... C-Noah F-Deng F-LeBron G-Hinrich G-Rose That's not better than the Cavs?
  7. hahahahahhaha on the slow white guy reference (re: ricky proehl)
  8. i'm with you 100% on this, (except the rivers hate...)
  9. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/02/martz-on-his-fit-with-bears-its-about-winning-games.html Interview with Martz from the Tribune. Some tidbits...
  10. Going forward, I'd take Noah over any of Cleveland's bigs. I probably even would now. I suppose you're right about the depth, but I like our rotation at C/PF right now (as much as I can without a legit post threat).
  11. They're getting an IKEA soon. I'm biased, but I'd have to think that right now Cleveland is the best spot for LeBron. They can give him the same salary, the best supporting cast, and it's hometown. I guess he could get marginally more recognition as a Knick, but I don't know why you'd take that gamble with a much worse team around him. More recognition and better supporting cast in Chicago. Done.
  12. That's arguably the appeal for someone like LeBron. If he can go there and get that team winning and get someone like Wade to show up, boom, that's bigger than he could ever get on any of the other teams out there. Despite the Knicks' crappiness, NYC is still NYC and the Knicks rule that town when they're good. Why would it be in two years and how would Wade show up after LeBron got the team winning? He's a free agent this year. I don't even think they could sign two max guys this offseason, but I could be wrong on that. Either way, I don't see it as likely at all that Wade would leave Miami for NY. Chicago? Maybe, but still probably not. Wade is free after this year if he opts out. He has a fourth year player option after this season. My guess is that he does not opt out after this season and becomes a FA after next year. I'm basing that mostly on the idea that he might want to test the FA market when it isn't as relatively crowded as it will be this summer. I don't know. The new CBA is going to result in even the best players making considerably less money. I'm not sure he'd chance it if he has any intention of leaving.

  14. Mike Martz officially hired... breaking on Score
  15. Like anyone else reporting rumors, a lot of the stuff he says isn't going to come true. A lot of what he says, however, does come true. Obviously, his Paxson story last year had some legs to it, for one. Why people like to rip on these guys so much when it's obvious that the nature of what they're reporting is pretty tenuous is beyond me. Anyway, I don't believe he's making this up out of thin air.
  16. Update on the LeBron story from RealGM... If you guys arent familiar, Vescey had mentioned a few months back that his sources told him LeBron was likely to leave Cleveland and was only willing to go to NY, NJ, and the Bulls... Here's the post/email exchange a poster had....
  17. They don't have their guns loaded. Mainstream media people do not understand the rules of the NBA's salary cap, so no one should listen to what they say. Unless the Bulls make some miraculous and creative trades, they aren't remotely close to having room for two max free agents. If Salmons opts in for 2010, they may not even have room under the cap for one max guy. i thought wrigley22 laid out what would have to happen fairly well. they'll have enough space for one even with kirk and salmons. With no trades and a Salmons opt-in, a max free agent would put the Bulls at around $57 million in salaries. The cap isn't set yet, but it's estimated that it would be around $54-55 million. Yep. There's still the possibility that they don't have room for even one max. They'll have to make a move or two to ensure it.
  18. Truth be told... you don't even need two max FAs if the L word is being invoked. LeBron on this team = a 60+ win team and title contender. Noah, Deng, LeBron, Hinrich, Rose Nasty. You could put JJ Reddick at SG and I'd still love that team.
  19. How exactly does the cap work... I know the luxury tax is in place for teams who go over the cap... but can you go over the cap without re-signing one of your own guys? Basically, can you sign a free agent and go into the tax for him? As I understand it, I wouldn't think so, but I don't really understand the cap and the tax completely. Otherwise, they will need to make some moves to have any chance of getting two max FA's.
  20. That's basically what happened... after he blew by thabo, you could see Westbrook make a face like... "yeaaaa...f it. i'm not about to get posterized."
  21. Awesome picture... http://d.yimg.com/a/p/sp/getty/77/fullj.0d4b22990bbdb2ada3bc93733f4b13ea/0d4b22990bbdb2ada3bc93733f4b13ea-getty-90043389lm031_bulls_thunder.jpg
  22. Just a week ago, they lost to the Clippers and Warruirs, so no. Those losses, while frustrating, weren't as inexplicable as everyone makes them seem. Pargo had to play significant minutes in both games. That's a huge dropoff from Hinrich or Salmons. Pargo is bad. Really, really bad. He's poison when he's on the floor.
  23. Yea, that's weird.
