  1. Pretty sure we'll put the forfeit lineup out there on Sunday... We'll know by game time if the faint hopes for the #1 seed are alive or not. If they are, we'll also be working on getting the Bucs into the playoffs.
  2. I was pretty happy about 10 years ago when we got our first steak n shake (near my house). Frisco Melt is still amazing drunk food.
  3. Only even remotely relevant thing I can think of is that Thome grew up a Cubs fan and always wanted to play here. I remember this from all the talk when he first went into free agency however many years ago. But yea, makes no sense.
  4. Ryan Dempster isn't even funny. Not even a little. Neither is his impression of Will Ferrell doing Harry Caray. If his pitching ability was on par with his comedic arsenal, he'd be Shawn Estes.
  5. #2 seemed a lot more likely before Kitna went down. Some guy named Stephen McGee will not lead Dallas to a road win in Philly, although I'll admit he didn't look too bad last night. Just like Matt Flynn wouldn't have a prayer in Gilette or Drew Stanton was doomed against the Bears. Or Webb...oh wait, nevermind on that one.
  6. Swirsky is awesome. A Swirsky/Stacey tandem on TV would be epic. Funk could go back to doing radio with nobody noticing his awful mistakes. People would think he's good again.
  7. Personally, I'm more curious about how Dempster is a "vastly overpaid #4?"
  8. Stafford has the best mic'd up ever. Love that dude.
  9. Meatheadedness defined. Cutler's teams always underperform. Yea, because everyone predicted the Bears to win the North this year. The best part is that torching the Jets on Sunday would elevate him to franchise qb status.
  10. putting spoiler tags on this because language (one word, actually) is questionable for this board...
  11. The throw to Rashied was my favorite.
  12. Same. I thought the people predicting 4-5 wins were bordering on insane. Add Peppers, Urlacher, Martz and get worse? Sure, in the NFL anything is possible, but I would've bet a good amount of money on over 8 wins. Saw anywhere between 9-11 wins as reasonable.
  13. I could see Philly losing to the Cowboys. It's not like the Eagles are some juggernaut. They were very lucky (and so were we) to beat the Giants. The Vikings, not so much... unless AP comes back and has some monster game.
  14. So now you're arguing that it would've been a bad call because it was too hard to see that the infraction actually happened?
  15. I was referring to hawkeyecub's post on that particular play. I should've quoted, but I didn't realize this thread was moving quite this quickly.
  16. I thought you can go helmet to helmet on running backs? Except Jay Cutler isn't a running back
  17. Yes, you can. Helmet to helmet is helmet to helmet... not helmet to helmet when players are of similar height and field conditions are good
  18. http://www.sawauto.com/uploader/up/andwelcometojackass.gif hahahah they were playing on an ice rink
  19. My investment in player safety is the fact that I want the Bears to have the best chance they can at winning 3-4 playoff games. How you can keep insisting that a field that wasn't designed to be played on in December and has no heating system whatsoever was fine in some of the worst weather conditions possible is kind of nuts.
  20. I'm not saying there was or wasn't anything wrong as I didn't watch any of the game, but if you guys had lost and/or a Bear got hurt because of the field conditions would you still feel that way? huh? jesus, lets just make up a bunch of [expletive] and ask hypothetical questions. yea, that works. You're being ridiculously biased right now. The field was crap. The circumstances sucked and they managed to do what they could with what they had, but that was not a good playing surface. We were lucky to have escaped relatively unscathed.
  21. Just avert your eyes. It's for erik. I'm trying to pick a fight.
  22. almost as good http://archive.profootballtalk.com/FavreThrow.jpg
  23. As have the Cubs. But you're just looking for a fight, and you're not going to get one. I'm not looking for any fight... I just have no idea why one team makes you a chicken little and the other makes you cocky instead of just being rational about both.
  24. Awesome... if only it weren't for Joniak having to toss in the line about there being no flags..
