  1. The Packers have had some spectacularly bad losses in the playoffs over the past decade. What the hell do the Holmgren and Lombardi years matter now?
  2. Never. We'll win week 17. How the hell are you just opposite people re: the Packers and Cubs.   Do you really need to ask that? The Packers are good. They've been good for a long time, they have an organizational philosophy based on winning, they have lots of talent, good people making the right calls, and they've won a championship in my lifetime, and there's a very realistic shot at more in the not too distant future. You can say exactly none of those things about the Cubs lol nice edit The Cubs have been just as close to a championship over the past 12 years as the Packers have. lol That is assuming I'm remembering correctly that Favre threw that awful pick into triple coverage in the 07 NFC championship game. So the Cubs' awful history mattered in 2008 when you were freaking out over every almost meaningless September loss? The Packers' "championship tradition" has something to do with how they're going to do in two weeks when they're decimated by injuries and have an awful coach?

  4. take it, to my rants thread about people, who can't use, commas
  5. please please please please please let this happen
  6. I was going to say I loved him for his clutch, extra-innings triple in the 2003 NLCS, but B-R says that was Glanville. How many bad CFs did that team have? I just looked them up. That team had some awful players on it period. 2003 was lightning in a bottle. Sure was a hell of a lot of fun, though. Up until that game that shall not be named. Not really, it was a team with absurdly good starting pitching in a bad division who managed to win some crucial head to head games down the stretch and get into the playoffs with 88 wins (bad division). From there, the playoffs are a complete crapshoot and having great power pitching never hurts.
  7. You act as though it only means something if it's a fully unprotected lottery pick.
  8. Given how miserable that franchise is with no hope in sight, I could very well see us with a top 3 pick come 2016. They're just one of those teams that probably will always be bad...especially with Elgin Baylor Part II in charge.
  9. Take your pick of guys that can match his $9M contract
  10. He's your starting PG for the next few weeks.
  11. I wouldn't give them that pick, nor do I think we would have to considering what we would have to give up in order to match salaries.
  12. I remember him responding a couple times... Don't really remember what I asked him or said. It was while he was still playing. I see him sign on now and then. And yea, I still use AIM to talk to my friends during work, mostly.
  13. I called the Jim Thome 9th inning HR against the Sox in 06 from the bleachers. But that was way more predictable
  14. I found Brian McRae on AOL like 14 or 15 years ago and he has been on my buddy list since. I'm pretty sure it's really him, at this point, unless BMcrae3381 is still pretending to be what now is a post retirement average 90's Major Leaguer. I've IMed him like 3 times.
  15. The latter is somewhat justifiable. Strasburg's arm was a ticking time bomb at the time, and it also exploded quickly. Who knows how he'll pitch when he gets back. One could argue that Strasburg's durability is unknown and/or is going to be poor, thus a trade for someone who has made 30 starts every year since 2003 while being extremely effective is a solid move. There's a high probability that Strasburg will be as good as Oswalt is. That being said, factoring in contracts and the fast washington is a couple years away, i wouldnt pull the trigger. i just dont think it's a completely insane deal. It is.
  16. That math by The Logan's friend is going to have a massive negative impact on my productivity today.
  17. Was it "I think a breaking ball low and away will do him in right here."? I impress girls with that line all the time. By impress I mean I say it to them AIM and then they sign off.
  18. It would take her 7-8 drinks? Damn.
  19. Even though I was one of the few in favor of letting him go a couple years ago, I'm selfishly happy about this.
  20. Yep. Mainly, I'm just worried about losing his help de. And I'm worried about facing Amare on Christmas.
  21. FWIW, Noah has been playing pretty crappily for a little while now and the Bulls have still been clowning on the L.
  22. It'll be fine. I'd expect it to cost us 3ish games. Nothing devastating.
  23. Who's top 4? Celtics, Heat, Lakers, Mavs? Hollinger has the Spurs in there, not the Mavs. Sagarin has the Spurs in instead of the Lakers.
