Agreed. The Cards big 3 is better than the Cubs big 3. I'd take Cubs other 5 vs. the Cards 5, though. Really? The only position I see the Cubs are clearly better is C and maybe LF. Looking things over again I'd take the Cards lineup but maybe that's my bias. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Ramirez post better offensive numbers than Rolen. Walker is clearly better than what the Cards have at 2B. You already mentioned C and LF. Our RF's are equally crappy.

Kingman's career ops was .780, Dunn's is .891 and he hasn't even reached his prime yet. That's not a very good comparison. Not even close. Kingman didn't have near Dunn's AWESOME plate discipline.

    Yes to both.

Other than Andre Miller, who was I hard on? Marbury? I'd hardly call him bad.

MNF isn't the big deal matchup anymore. Sunday Nights will be the featured NFL matchups of the week now. Still not sure why they would choose that game... Arizona got the Edge... I guess... :?:

Oh, but wait.. he did... Doesn't matter, though. He's "soft."

Yeah, you never see pitchers hurt a muscle in their shoulder. Ever. It's nigh impossible for a pitcher to strain a shoulder muscle. I mean, how could that even happen? Name me other pitchers that have been on the DL 4 or 5 times for strains and the like in 4 years. Prior's not on that list. Beat me to it.

If it makes you feel any better, I got it. As did I.

Actually, from all the recent reports I've heard, they will not be extending Dusty until after the season, if at all (please don't)... Hendry is going to get his extension soon, though. Not sure how I feel about that.

Might just be the fight to get spanked by the Heat.. 8)

Most important thing on offense... DON'T MAKE OUTS

yeah....name me the team that can replace 2 all-star pitchers with their great pitching depth... Miller was never someone we were counting on or that needed to be replaced. He's a potential replacement, if anything. We certainly could've done better than Glendon Rusch... (Hell, we probably have better in the minors right now)...

6 runs is pretty good for the offense. Not worried about the Offense I'm worried about the sloppy defense play. Last year's problem was the offense (as well as all the injuries to the pithing staff). And it probably will be this year's as well.

STOP THROWING BARRETT TO THE WOLVES!!!111!!
  16. David
    They were both terrible.

So do I... when we're down a run and our power hitters are up with the bases empty. Exactly right.

    DLee!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

 Yes, he's being "thrown to the wolves" because a couple of people rightfully called out a bad play he made.

I'd guess far more than half the pitchers in the Majors are worse than a 4.00 ERA. That's just a testament to how poor and diluted the overall talent pool is, especially in terms of pitching. Doesn't make a 4 ERA any better.
  22. David
I'd classify 4.00 as mediocre anyway.

When someone is pitching as well as Arroyo, it doesnt hurt to take a pitch or two, make him work, and get his pitch count up. Exactly. Make the pitcher work. Even if you're taking a first pitch strike and end up having to battle and foul off pitches. If not, you end up letting the pitcher breeze through the game, like we did all year last year and are doing today.

EVEN MURTON IS SWINGING AT THE FIRST PITCH.. WFT IS THIS??

This rotation sure will look a lot nicer with Wood, Prior, and Miller...
