I feel like even if Hamels continues like this you can decline the option, which Texas pays the 6mm buyout, and then try to sign him to like a 2/25 deal. I’d be shocked if we pick up that option. Im pretty sure Harper is ours I think Russell + one of Happ/Almora will be traded for a young ace-calibur SP. I think we’ll likely find a taker for one or both of Heyward and Zobrist, eating a bunch of money in the process. Chatwood might be assassinated Schwarber/Almora or Happ/ Harper in the OF Bryant/Baez/Bote(and-or Zobrist)/Rizzo/Contreras in the IF SP: Darvish/Hamels/Hendricks/Trade/Lester Edit: I forgot Q exists. I doubt Lester is tradeable without eating the whole salary. We might not be interested in Hamels even at a reduced salary. -

I didnt quite realize how good of a season Lester was having. Granted, im only judging on his 9-2 record and 2.10 era.

yeeeeeeesh. mariners have to be estatic if this can somehow get them out of that contract [tweet] [/tweet] I always thought that if you were busted for roids while on the DL, you had to recover from the injury, be reactivated, and then begin your suspension. I thought they had lost him for however long the injury takes to heal + 80 games. Or maybe thats just how i think it oughta work, but man thats a big blow for the Ms.

Maybe if a deal can be made with Happ going back as the main piece Id be excited about it. I doubt it, though, so id rather keep Russell and get Harper next year.
