I mean, not necessarily. I guess if it was me I just wouldnt want the appearance that I'm not 100% in. I personally would not like it, but that doesnt make it wrong. I guess its clear that there isnt a rule against signing a coach who is about to be coaching a WS, so I was basically asking if they were violating an unwritten rule. Is there any recent precedent? I cant remember seeing it happen before.
I dont know if its been discussed already but isn't it like...highly inappropriate to announce a hiring when the guy youre hiring is about to coach in the World Series for a different team? I mean, Boston already announced that its a 3 year contract with Cora. Id be pretty pissed if i was about to coach in the world series and every one of my players knew I had already agreed to go manage in Boston.
So the yanks faced a wildcard game and then two 102+ win teams and never lost a game at home. I enjoyed our layoff from yankee relevence, but it appears that they'll be annoying again from this point forward. But for now theyre gone. Congrats, Astros. Please beat the Dodgers. Go Stros!
Theo and friends were apparently pretty pissed at him for calling Thames a roider. That, plus the comments on Molina and the signs at Busch might have been enough to fire him. Plus the bullpen struggles, and Hickey being available. I dont like it but I dont really care either, pitching coaches are pretty replaceable.
Id take it and eat most of Chen's contract to get it done. But thats a baaaaaad contract we're taking, so at that point its Happ or Almora pretty much straight up or Id just go sign Cain. Does Miami have anything of value in the bullpen that we could pluck while we're at it? They have a guy named Bear Claw who has an awesome name, I like that and it puts us one Be a Genie away from having a super punny bullpen. Id rather build a super dominant bullpen, do they have anything that can help with that?
I just heard on MLB Network that Javy was talking about facing Kershaw tonight and said "Good luck to him." And with that, I withdraw my consent to trade him. We need this man on this team.
I wouldnt be surprised. He has a nice mix of being extremely valuable in a trade while also not being absolutely vital to our roster. I hope we keep him, he's just awesome in every way, but if we can use him as a piece to get a high OBP offensive piece or a pitcher to replace Jake then Im all for it.
I predicted a 3-1 comeback at the beginning. Didnt predict 3-0, but now that we won today its just like any old regular 3-1 comeback. We're good at those. We've got Q, Lester and Hendricks lined up on full rest with Jake in the bullpen on 3 days rest in game 7. Our offense is just simply bound for some babip luck or something. I like it, Inthink we're gonna do this.
horsefeathers that. Yu's a horsefeather and so is the rest of that team. They're just lucky that rain prevented us from ending the Nationals series against Roark on Tuesday and resting up, because then they wouldnt even have any NLCS wins to hang their hat on this offseason. Edit: holy crap how is B not auto-censored? Sorry about that apparently you aren't familiar with jaxbro's reverse jinx posts in basically every game thread for the past 3 weeks or something Apparently not, hm. Oh well, i'll just reapply that post to whoever else I see posting loser talk.

In this particular situation I dont mind not using Wade. For one, if Wade is in and Jansen bats with 2 out, nobody on they let him bat and you just used Wade to extend the game for more Jansen nightmares and then youre right back to Lacky or Rondon or other options we dont trust. He tried to sneak Duensing through 7-8-9 which made sense with Puig's lefty struggles. Once Puig walks it becomes hard to defend not bringing Wade in immediately though. Really disappointing to hear him use the phrase "saving him for the save situation" and I hope he abandons that mindset moving forward.
