    Isnt "the cubs way" the book that the FO put together themselves when they first got here to basically standardize the organizational philosophy? I thought this joke was gonna be about how dumb it would be to distribute that book to somebody who was likely to sign with a direct competitor.

    I see 3 really good reasons to sign Darvish: 1. He's real good 2. That Otani guy might be included 3. Dodgers fans would be really annoyed watching him dominate them in next years NLCS 6/160? Sure thing, lets do it.

    Id take Harvey for free but id take almost anything that used to be good for free. Id say no if i had ever heard of the prospect we were trading away.

    Thats the only way ive been able to think of something working; use his contract to offset Stanton's. But then youve still gotta find a way to add enough value to the package to net Stanton, and Heyward doesnt even inch you toward that unless you start to eat a good chunk of his contract. I can see the Rockies valuing him, though, and I can't see him objecting to calling Coors home. I think its most likely that we just start using him as the super-defensive sub that he's been performing as.

    Also, that happened. You cant see on there, though, that the ball bounces right to his teammate, which saved 1 run and turned a triple into a single.
