  1. Yanks winning gives us homefield. Stros winning gives us a DH and a roof 4 times. Honestly i think i like the Stros deal better. Oh wait, stros are a lot better. Go Yanks.
  2. I thought the Nationals were the best team in the NL, especially after fixing their bullpen. I’ve been irrationally unimpressed by the Dodgers all season. My list was and still is: 1. Cubs 2. Nats 3. Dodgers I kinda see the Cubs as a 100 win true-talent team, Nats about 97-98 and LA like 95-96. The Dodgers way overachieved this season imo and a lot of times that ends when the overachieving team faces a great team in a 7 game series. This is anybody's series. I think we are the better team and should win, but I am concerned that the Nats took a lot out of us, we don't have enough time to reset between series, and Im concerned that our bullpen looks like trash. The "I trust" list is now Davis and Strop, and Strop is always in danger of falling off that list. I think give lackey the start and 90-95 pitches in game 1, then make him available out of the bullpen starting in game 3 (and actually use him this time). Activate Rondon, he's healthy right? Taste test Wilson in game 1 and pray he performs to his capabilities. I like Lackey going in game one because I like the way it sets up game 5-6-7 for us, all on plenty of rest. Then you have a rotation of Lackey - Q - Lester - Jake - Hendricks- Q - Lester all on full rest, and a bullpen of: Davis - Strop - Monty - Rondon - Lackey (3+) - Carl - Wilson All said, Cubs win games 3, 5,6 and 7.
  3. There are way too many examples of Dusty horsefeathering up this series to actually name them all. Joe wasn't perfect either, but im almost certain that if these two teams had traded managers prior to the series, they would have also traded outcomes.
  4. Eh, it's probably the right move there, as Heyward has had success there, and what happened after was basicaaly none of Scherzers fault. I dont think walking Heyward is ever the right move at this moment in time, but i suppose it looks better than if Heyward had gotten a meatball and managed to hustle out an infield hit out of it. And yeah, none of what happened after that was Scherzer's or Dusty's fault.
  5. He's done a lot to innovate both the high 5 and the out in 5.
  6. Nah lets ride him all postseason long then let the Nats pay him.
  7. Double play would be huge right here. Lets do it.
  8. I don’t think you bring in a guy that notoriously has given up runs early in games He's also notorious for being a better major league pitcher than Carls Jr. But whatever lets go Carl.
  9. Kris needs to finally show up and whip his damn dong out.
  10. YES! Q is in the bullpen! Just give him a clean inning.
  11. Do not like how this ending sets up. Please score more runs.
  12. Theres the damn nickname for him ive been looking for. Ive taken to saying that Maddon is duncing when he brings him in, which also applies here.
  13. Yeah man, where is Q? Saving him for game 1 is not optimal strategy and neither is Duensing.
  14. Badly need to respond this inning. Dongs, plz.
  15. Uhhhhhhhhh...not a big Gio Gonzalez fan? Nah Gio is a good pitcher, great at times. Hendricks is better. Plus we hit lefties well. Didnt realize Gio was on full rest, though. Thats disappointing, I normally math well when i have enough fingers to cover it. :/
  16. Its baseball and we have the better pitcher on the mound at full rest. Advantage is ours. This team that has outplayed us so thoroughly was a game 2 8th inning rally away from being swept. Meh, we'll be fine. Cubs win 7-2, 5 Cubs runs in the first 2 innings.
