  1. Yeah I think it got like a 3.5 out of 10 or something close to that.
  2. That makes a whole lot of sense.
  3. Is there some point in the off season where you no longer need to give up a draft pick to sign Sheets?
  4. Uh...so yeah, no team is ever a 100% sure shot to make the playoffs.
  5. Yeah, I decided I wasn't going to purchase something that is supposed to be giving me every baseball game anymore unless it actually gave me every baseball game. The thing that pisses me off the most is the saturday baseball blackouts, which is [expletive] because Saturday is my day off work, but I can't watch the Cubs on my 160 some dollar baseball pack because Fox is too busy showing the Yankees play the Royals.
  6. It was a very believable story, it just seems a little too convenient to me that the one time he accidentally uses a corked bat, it happens to explode all over the infield. I don't really care because the advantage it gave him was pretty small, and Sammy didn't hit many bucket homeruns anyway. It does show that he's willing to cheat to get an advantage, which when added to the rest of the circumstantial evidence makes me believe 100% that he did steroids.
  7. If we have the money to add Jake Peavy, we should have the money to add Ben Sheets should we not be able to get Peavy.
  8. MLBTR was a joke when it first started. Dude just made stuff up and posted it to get hits. Now its apparently a good source, but I still have a hard time believing what is posted there because of the early days.
  9. Is this little experiment over yet? I thought I remembered them saying that it was a 4 year thing and then they'd go from there. I thiiiiink that was 4 years ago. Can we just go by record now? Or at least back to alternating?
  10. I expect 120 games a year out of him.
  11. Colon stinks. Haha, man I've missed making those jokes.
  12. Yes it does use up minutes as well as data. I had it. I liked it a lot but had to use it very sparingly (or after 9 oclock or whenever the free minutes started.)
  13. At a quick glance, We got Bradley and Soriano as free agents, Lee and Ramirez from trades, and Soto and Theriot from the farm system which accounts for our "good bats." Seems pretty even. And yes I included Theriot as a good bat simply so that we would have two from each category.
  14. This. Normally, I'd agree with this line of thinking, but if you add Sheets, that's 3 potential injuries waiting to happen in the rotation (Harden and sadly Zambrano are the others). Also you have to consider the amount of innings Dempster threw last year vs. the previous 3. While it seems great to say we have Marshall if one goes down if 2-3 of them go down, we are all the sudden looking much less formidable. I don't really think you can build your team around the notion of "What happens if 3 of my pitchers get injured at the same time?"
  15. We could trade for Jason Marquis.
  16. All of the moves really make perfect sense, except for the Fukudome deal which only looks bad in hindsight.
  17. Oh we're doing lineups now? I'd probably go with Soriano Fukudome Ramirez Bradley Lee Derosa Soto Theriot Pitcher Give Fuku a while to prove he's not a bust, if he can't handle the #2 spot after a month or so, Soriano Derosa Ramirez Bradley Lee Soto Fuku Theriot Pitcher
  18. You guys could all really benefit from not responding to Wrigley23 anymore. They guy is obviously either mentally incapable of understanding baseball, or he's purposely acting like he is to get people upset and provoke these long, frustrated responses from you guys.
  19. I guess TECHNICALLY Lee contributed to those 3 in 2003 :| Wood, too.
  20. Pretty typical move of a team managed by Dusty.
  21. He drives in runs with his glove and stuff
  22. Didn't he still hit lefties pretty damn well? If he'd sign cheap he could be this year's Edmonds. But I'd still rather pass.
