    What if Harden and Sheets are out at the same time? Marshall can fill one of those spots adequately, but who would jump into the other slot? If we sign Sheets we'd almost have to keep Marquis around or get another Marquis-like guy. Unless Lou forgives Gaudin for drinking beers.

    Wait. Aren't you the guy who advocates sliding headfirst, into first, because it's faster? No no, he conducted a scientific study involving college students and stopwatches to decide that sliding FOOT first into first base was faster than running through or going head first.

    Why not just save ourselves some money and give Marshall the 5th starter spot, trade Marquis and get Bradley/Hermida and Furcal? Marshall will perform no worse than Randy Johnson would, our rotation is already a strength and there is no real need to spend big to upgrade it.

    I wonder if we could send Z to the Phillies and have them send prospects to the orioles who then send Brian Roberts to the Cubs as part of the Peavy 4way trade that is apparently in the works.....though obviously we'd keep Derosa in that situation. ..though that situation will also obviously not happen.

    Man this sucks, NSBB was down like all day. I figured maybe it exploded after the Peavy deal was finalized, but it was still pending a physical so none of the major news sources were reporting it. Now it comes back up and all I see is some BS about the deal being on life support, followed by how its back on now. Stupid Brian Roberts thread Jr.

    I said Harden, Zambrano, Dempster (only because we can't trade him since he just signed), and Soto. Trading one of our pitchers would defeat the purpose of getting Peavy, and Soto is too sexy to trade.
