I saw the higlight of almora robbing him twice but what happened after that? -
I dont even want wc2 cuz it doesnt reek enough of failure, and this team deserves a reek of failure.

Hes the one guy who has moderately high value while also being relatively easy to replace with a more productive version. I also think he’ll break out next year and have a monster season at the plate, but Ive also thought that for 3 straight seasons.

I think youre right that at least one of Rizzo/Bryant/schwarber/Contreras will be out, but id say in order of most to least likely itd be Schwarber/Rizzo/Bryant/Contreras. Schwarber is pretty obvious, but i put Rizzo as 2nd most likely simply because its easier to replace a 1st baseman, and his contract seems to give him some excess value that will start to deteriorate rapidly as he gets closer to FA. If youre gonna trade Rizzo rather than watch him leave via FA, the time to do so is this offseason. We have inhouse options to replace him, too. But id rather go outside to replace him if he did get traded.

Really? That looks like a disaster to me, and I like Wick. Im gonna be so pissed if we go into 2020 without a lockdown bullpen. Its been our biggest problem every single year of our contention window. Even when we won the world series, we did it with like 1.75 reliable relievers. I want to sign and/or trade for every good reliever available this offseason.

Tomorrow’s game will be an epic battle between the Home Cubs trying to rule and the 11-games-over-.500 cubs trying to horsefeathers the bed.

I cant remember the last time the team that everyone declared had “just won the world series” at the trade deadline actually went on to win the world series, so at least theres that. But yeah i do agree, theyre the best team in baseball by a wide margin. Cubs in 7 imo

And signing oft injured Morrow for 2/$21M. Complete and total waste for a team ownership bitching about money. The price reflected the risk, the rest of the FA RP market sucked or was overpriced (Davis, who will still got a pick for losing) he at least was really good for the 40 innings or whatever we had him for last year. Yeah, I still don’t hate that one.

Ball got stuck between the ground and the padding of the wall. Fielder put his hands up for about 5 seconds but then reached and got the ball and threw it in before the ball was declared dead. Baez had reached 3rd safely.
