  1. If Rudy made Darwin Barney this good, I'll sign for league minimum and cover first. I might still have time to make the all star team
  2. Cincinnati has The National But Akron has The Black Keys, so every other town can suck it That's a bummer. I thought they were from Bloodbuzz. They're really from Cleveland Heights. Akron has Lebron James though! :D
  3. Fred McGriff and Henry Rodriguez are the two that come to mind. No clue on the third.
  4. I have to question starting the $3 dollar beer promotion when we're playing the Cardinals. I also can't believe they're worried about attendance when the weather has been so bad
  5. How many teams could lose their #4 and #5 pitchers on the same day and NOT have it create a mess?
  6. You'd think they would have figured out by now that the 5th inning on WGN radio is a disaster. I had no idea what was even going on most of the time.
  7. I like you, Quade. But that right there is a Dusty lineup.
  8. I never figured I'd be hoping that Doug Davis would be on our team soon.
  9. Without looking at stats it seems he's getting on base a lot and hitting the ball hard quite a bit. He's also been battling a bad thumb pretty much all season, and the defense he plays at first is very valuable with our infield. As far as how long we keep running him out there, I'd say 5+ months, barring injury.
  10. i think on WSI the word "cubs" is autocorrected to flubs or scrubs. Yeah I know, because the posters on that board have some mental instabilities. I thought we were above that, that's all.
  11. I like that he's willing to try new things to win. We have had stubborn old idiots running the club for seemingly ever. He's made mistakes, but odds are he will learn from them. Dusty, Lou, Baylor...they didn't. Ever. Keep in mind though, that he was trained by Dusty and Lou in some way, so he needs a crappy player who is a really chill dude to keep running out there failure after failure. Dusty had Macias, Lou had Koyie Hill, Quade seems to have chosen Reed Johnson.
  12. ....and are we that immature here that we really need "S ux" to be autocorrected to Sox?
  13. ...didn't he leave?
  14. It looks pretty obvious to me. His foot goes back, once he does that he is a fielder. He can throw it to the outfielder if he wants to. Verlander decided to throw it at the batter. The runner gets second, not because he balked, but because Verlander threw away a live ball and he ran to second. He could have scored if he wanted to. ....but the umpires called it a balk. Same result, regardless.
  15. So if Pena is going to do this bunt for a single thing and can do it well, why not just bat him second for a while? If Castro gets on you have power right behind him, and if he doesn't he can bunt and be a guaranteed baserunner for Aramis. Oh yeah and move Aramis to 3rd in the order.
  16. NO YOU CANT GARZA Sox N SO DOEZ HENRY
  17. This is almost as pointless as when they locked up Chong.
  18. lol at the orioles being interested in another crappy former cub
  19. How about we all agree to this: No dropped flyballs or strikeouts were caused by Lou posting the lineup late. True. However, having a manager that is so disinterested that he can't even post the lineups on time even after the players have a meeting with him to discuss it can hurt your team.
  20. What in the world would the quake spend 100 million yen on?
  21. I can understand a sarcasm detector being broken, things happen. However, it seems you never had one to begin with.
  22. How the hell are we only half a game out of first?
  23. Hahaha Its funny, because just the other night I was reading the ESPN thing grading the offseasons of each team in the NL Central. When they listed the Astros I actually thought "Oh yeah, I forgot about them." I used to dislike the Astros almost as much as the Cardinals.
