  1. I think Jason Kubel did it last year, but I'm too lazy to look it up. I think the walkoff was a grand slam, too.
  2. True. Hell you could just look at his signature to get the basic gist of how today's game went.
  3. After beating Halladay around, the only logical thing for us to do against a man named Wandy is to get no hit.
  4. Knowing that a large percentage of their fanbase originated from watching their games on WGN growing up in other cities, I don't know why they don't put as many games as possible on there. I probably wouldn't be a Cubs fan if it was not for WGN.
  5. But regardless of that fact, Hamilton was never going to be a Cub. It is a moot point.
  6. Prior is next to sign with the Red Sox. Pure speculation
  7. I think that is the first time I have ever been grammar checked on this board. I edited the post. When I originally posted it, that was correct. Forgot to change that after the edit. I failed to realize that the Indians could just let all those guys walk after the year. So, though I would deeply enjoy it, I'd say the odds are resting somewhere around 0.
  8. Out of all the proposals to trade Zambrano that we're bound to hear, I most certainly like this one the most. Although if Kerry Wood's was some random guy who had spent his whole career with the Indians I would probably hate it.
  9. May as well suck as much as possible to get a few good draft picks. That team seems capable of losing 95. I like it.
  10. So, I'll be staying at the Best Western in Evanston on July 1st and 2nd and attending the Cubs game on the 2nd. Its on Sherman Ave, I believe. Are there any cool places to go/hang out around that area? Is it a pretty safe area? I'm so white that even I try to mug myself sometimes.
  11. West Coast trips annoy me. Although when I lived in CA, waking up at 10am to watch the noon CT games at wrigley annoyed me more.
  12. I want Piniella fired more than I ever wanted Baker fired. That's a lie, but I do want him gone.
  13. They're just looking to double their attendance by counting each one of the fish in with the audience.
  14. He needs to be sat at the end of the bullpen and never used David Patton style, but we can't afford to do that, so instead we need to just get rid of him. It was a bad contract when it was signed, and that's when we thought he was at least an average lefty reliever.
  15. When they asked Greg Maddux about this, he replied with "...who's Casey Blake?"
  16. He's eligible for free agency in what, 3 years? Sign him to a 5 year deal in the offseason. If he continues at this pace he's going to get a hell of a contract from the Yankees.
  17. Maybe this season will be a lot like the 2007 season, where we suck so bad early that we all give up, and then we go out and decide to win the division.
  18. Can't wait til we have to pay Marmol what he's worth.
  19. Wait a minute, I got back just in time to hear Pat say "It'll only effect the games on the 2nd, 3rd, and 9th" What's being effected by those games, and is that June or July?
  20. Why move Gorz to the pen? For the record, I don't really care about lefty vs righty, but our management does. We already have a lefty in the rotation in Lilly, and I doubt he's going anywhere. Moving Gorz to the pen would give us three lefties in the pen, which in their mind is too many. Grabow would then be the odd man out since he's pitched so horribly which would either lead to him being traded or DFAd, and that's what I really want to happen.
  21. Move Gorz to the bullpen and DFA Grabow.
  22. lol He's fine is he's planning on bringing 5 of his closest friends with him to share said hotel room. I'm not looking for high quality lodging here. I found a Best Western close to the area that I'll book soon. It'll just be me, two friends are flying in from Washington and we're watching the game together and I'm staying in the hotel room.
  23. well, this game isn't going to end well, so I may as well ask a question that i don't feel like making a topic about. What's the best hotel I can stay at in chicago that is: 1. close to Wrigley, although it doesn't have to be close, I can take the public transportation 2. close to bars. This one is important. 3. around 50-60 per night for 1 person. 4. Not in a bad area.
