  1. C - Soto 1b - Lee 2b - Theriot SS - FA/trade 3b - Ramirez LF - Soriano CF - Fukudome RF - Bradley P Zambrano P Dempster P Harden (Should be easy to sign, down year and injury trouble. Possibly sign him to a 1 year deal.) P Lilly P Wells Hopefully Hendry is smart enough not to destroy the team because we had an off year. If you put this same team together 10 years in a row (aging not a factor) we'd win this division 9 times. What this team needs is depth. Hendry raped our roster of all its depth in this crazy left handed fix he was on. Sign a solid but not spectacular guy to fill in in case of injury. Preferably somebody who's natural position is 3rd base but can also play SS/2nd. Don't worry about what hand he signs the contract with. Mark Derosa coming back would be fine, just don't give him another big contract. 1-2 year 2-3 million. Try to dump Miles to make up for it. If you can't find a taker for Miles, contact a hitman.
  2. This is the Cobs guy, right? Soriano doesn't exactly suck.
  3. I just want you to know that this topic is extraordinarily stupid.
  4. Yeah I found it again while looking through my Youtube favorites. I actually refuse to listen to that song anymore because of that video. They couldn't have picked a better song to use.
  5. We have a better chance at the Wild Card than the division, but with Z and Lilly both on the DL and Aramis possibly heading there as well, It'll all hinge on if they all come back and are able to produce up to their normal standards.
  6. I forget the details of this one, so I might have the story wrong, but remember back in 2003 when it would have been pretty beneficial for the Cubs for the Cardinals to beat the Astros in an upcoming series, and somebody asked Prior who he was rooting for...he said he hopes the Cardinals get their brains bashed in because Milwaukee would take care of Houston for us anyway. Prior was such a badass. :[
  7. You think they would just let any random Joe Shmoe to take whipped cream body shots off them? They knew who Josh Hamilton was, and I don't know anyone who knows who he is that doesn't know about his problems. Yes, I agree that Josh Hamilton is an adult and has to take responsibility, but it's a problem for a reason. One of the most despicable TV episodes that I've ever seen was this CSI episode where a police officer tries to "tempt" a pedophile in order to get him sent back to prison. I feel this is analogous. Have you ever partied at bars in and around Arizona state University? Well, neither have I. But from the stories I've heard about it. Yeah, a lot of the girls would.
  8. Lets just not have a game thread that day. It'll be an ugly thread if it is posted.
  9. How are we to assume those girls knew anything of his personal life? That's kind of a dumb statement. ...I'd personally love to hang out with those girls.
  10. He should get fined about 100k for walking Miles and Dempster back to back.
  11. Whoever the radio color guy with Pat is today just said we should shoot Jason Marquis. I agree.
  12. Kinda pisses me off how good of a season Marquis is having.
  13. Heilman in now. So we're gonna be down by 5 or so with two innings left.
  14. Wouldnt a phantom injury have been better? We just burned an option on him when we could have just stashed him on the DL for a few weeks.
  15. This game deserves for them to instantly be downgraded to Cobs for the next game thread.
  16. This reminds me of the "Cubs record when Hee Seop Choi plays over Karros" stuff from this board. It does suck though, I was hoping we'd seen the last of Miles.
  17. I've yet to go to a sporting event in any city where 2/3rds of the people aren't drinking. (and the other third is not of legal age)
  18. I don't understand why they aren't playing Bradley now that he is hitting well, unless they're hiding a minor injury.
  19. I think he was 23. And one of those starts where he allowed more than 3 earned runs was early in the year vs. the Astros. He allowed 6 earned that day, and most of them (maybe all of them?) were due to an error that was ruled a hit. Had those runs been unearned it would be only 3 times he allowed more than 3 earned runs. It also would have significantly lowered his ERA, and possibly given him the Cy Young award.
  20. I've heard on this board several times that the Cards have played the easiest schedule in MLB. How can that be the case AND they have an easier schedule down the stretch?
  21. That's dangerously close to the lineup we started the season with.
  22. The only career Dusty has ruined is Prior's. He didn't even abuse Volquez any more than other managers would have. Wood's career is still going strong, so is Zambrano's. Dusty was extra stupid with Prior and he's paying the price. But that's about it.
  23. The problem is though that Blanco can't do any of that stuff. All he can do is field. Granted, he does field very well so he's worth keeping around, but he's only worth keeping around as a #8 hitter and late inning defensive replacement.
