  1. I'd like to point out that I was going to be rooting for the Mavs even before the threat of physical violence was presented if I didn't.
  2. I don't know how feasible this is, but I think I'll throw it out there. Since it's board policy to contact a mod or admin if you are having problems or concerns, wouldn't it be convenient if there were a way that you could just submit a comment/complaint/request so that all the mods/admins that could help would be able to see it, while it still remains private from the rest of the forum? Kind of like a cross between private messages and a protected forum. Again, no idea how feasible this is, but thought it was worthwhile to share.
  3. Woulda been fun to go against all you Mizzou folk. There's still time. A Mizzou win and UCLA loss gives us the matchup. And that's what happened. Mizzou and UCLA go at it at for the right to try to beat Pepperdine twice in a row, with the first being later that day. Projected starters are Freshman Rick Zagone for Mizzou and Junior Tyson Brummett for UCLA.
  4. Ross or Bard? They don't even have a combined 100 at bats. You're really stretching, Barrett's in right now.
  5. What catchers are those? McCann and Miller are the only ones with a higher OPS, and they don't have enough ABs to qualify(only 4 catchers have, Barrett leads them by about 90 points in OPS). There's no way that Barrett isn't in right now, and it's more likely that McCann and especially Miller level off than Barrett.
  6. Every team has to have a guy. Every year better qualified outfielders are left off because of that rule. Zambrano, Barrett, and Dempster are all more likely to be in. I heard that Barrett was the leading vote getter at catcher. We won't be hurting to get someone in that they'll pick Jones and shaft half a dozen outfielders.
  7. It was pointed out in today's game thread. Colorado.
  8. There are 12 outfielders with an OPS over 900. Jones doesn't have any previous name recognition or other special abilities(baserunning, defense) to set him apart. He'd need to channel the June our RF had in 1998 to make the All-Star team.
  9. Would you have rather had the Cavs play the Heat in the second round? I don't think the Cavs would have done any better against the Heat than they did against the Pistons. Although a LeBron-Wade series would have been highly entertaining. I think they would've handled the Heat. Why do you think that? I'm just curious. They couldn't beat a struggling Detroit team. Miami was playing much better than Detroit during the previous two rounds IMO They match up better with them, and Detroit wasn't really "struggling" until the Cavs took it to them. I think they would've been better off facing a more individual-oriented team in Miami. That, and they had the 3rd best record in the East.
  10. Even better, he hasn't even gotten to a 3 ball count, and to 2 balls only twice.
  11. Wuertz can't come back up yet, he was demoted on the 28th. With an off day Thursday and Monday though, I don't see why it was such a huge deal. Of course, if Williamson goes on the DL too, then Wuertz would probably be on his way back up.
  12. I wonder if they would put Marmol in the Iowa rotation then. That'd be tough luck for Walrond, O'Malley, or Valdes. Adding onto the Gallagher promotion idea, did anyone leave the Daytona roster when Lane was promoted there?
  13. But who would be demoted from Iowa? Maybe Williamson wasn't faking it today. Since it seems to be a call to get a fresh arm, they might just send Novoa down there, especially since he may need a day or two off after throwing 4 times in 5 days(66 pitches).
  14. Would you have rather had the Cavs play the Heat in the second round? I don't think the Cavs would have done any better against the Heat than they did against the Pistons. Although a LeBron-Wade series would have been highly entertaining. I think they would've handled the Heat. How'd they do against the Heat in the regular season? 2-2, 1-0 with Hughes
  15. Wood? He's been pushed back to the second game of the Houston series. Maddux tomorrow. Link What does this do to Maddux's schedule? What was his resting days if he picthed when he was planned next, and now what are his resting days now that he is pitching tommorow? EDIT: I hate typos. Due = Do Because of the off day Thursday, he'll be pitching on normal rest, as if we didn't have an off day.
  16. Congrats to Marmol. I assume Novoa will be the one sent down.
  17. I'm not going to worry about velocity until after several MLB starts.
  18. I just saw LaRussa's post game comments to the media. He was really vague, but he gave the impression like this was more serious than a nagging injury. Based on everything thus far I think you'll see a DL stint at the least.
  19. Mizzou beats UC Irvine 5-4 in 14 innings! They live another day!
  20. Barrett on base 4 times today. Unlucky DP for Nevin, hard hit.
  21. haha, a storm warning just popped onto my screen, preceded by a beeping noise, making it sound like McCarver was talking about a left handed [obscenity]
  22. Runner on 3rd for UCI, 2 outs, bottom 11, incase you aren't following. I'm listening to the radio, Mizzou is trying to give it away. Yeah, I'm not about to make myself care any more than I already do. I already caved and briefly checked Tigerboard to see if it was over. To the 12th we go.
  23. Nevin is fun to watch, I thought he had another one for a second.
  24. Pierre beats that one out if it's 90 instead of 85 here in STL.
