  1. so what you are saying is that you haven't gathered all the evidence possible, and you haven't gathered as much as I have gathered, but you know for sure. you're so openminded about it. it's so obvious you have considered my point of view. now go over to a wall, put your right shoulder against it, imagine a ball is flying to the otherside of the wall, and see if you would be able to reach it. I admire your attempt to be a stand up guy and not make excuses. doesn't change this one simple fact...physically impossible. Oh for crying out loud, have you ever once stopped to consider that you may not be right all of the damn time? That was not an obvious fan interference call. I've seen the replay from different angles dozens of times, and it looks pretty clear to me that if nobody touched it, the ball would have hit right on top of the wall. Not in the stands, not on the field. Must everything be a pissing match? get off your damn high horse. when is the last time anyone stopped to consider that they may not be right all the damn time. did you ever stop and consider that you may be wrong on this? alot of people have been coming at me with this hypocritical nonsense lately. where's your most recent mia culpa? Disagreeing with someone doesn't mean that one of the two people has a character flaw. not sure if this is directed at me or Pedro. maybe I wasn't quick enough with my thank you. In this case, you. I'm simply saying that reasonable people are allowed to disagree in some cases. Not everything has to become me v. you, and the animosity that comes with it(as for a mea culpa, I probably do the same thing at times with certain topics). Take it FWIW, and I agree with you in this particular case.
  2. Like I said earlier in the thread, pitchers are much much more variable in their career paths than hitters.

  4. What if it meant turning it into a baseball venue for one, maybe two years while Wrigley was thoroughly renovated?
  5. hahaha, it's so painfully obvious that Dusty was trying to get tossed
  6. The real story! He looks like a ballerina. Ty Cobb's ghost is going to shoot you for that.
  7. I see your point, but his OBP is over .400. Even if he hits only 20 HRs a year, what's the big deal? ARam and Lee will both hit 30 every year. That sounds like enough power. The point is......why trade for a great OBP with declining power for $15 mill, when you can prolly get Brian Giles for less then HALF of what Abreu is making. Giles still has a .382 OBP, and is mkaing slightly less the $8 mill this yr. And Giles plays in a tough HR hitters park. Trading for a $15 million dollar doubles hittters, is hardly consider a good move. I haven't seen any indication that the Padres want to move Giles. And even then, he's lost some power too and is even older than Abreu.
  8. Why in the great blue sea did Marmol start that inning?
  9. It's one thing to start new discussions about these matters. It's another thing altogether to throw them into a discussion where it has little to no relevance. I think this is clearly a double-standard. It seems as if some people get touchy when "their" guy is criticized but it's open season on guys that some hate. So, when is it relevant to compare a guy? I've already seen where the question of Pagan vs. Murton was brought up. What's the difference between that and Hill vs. Marmol? Because Murton should probably be playing today, him playing or not is relevant to today's game. Marmol is pitching today, Hill pitched yesterday and won't pitch again for another 5 days. They aren't competing for the same spot.
  10. Hill has less than 50 MLB innings, even less as a starter, that's a far, far cry from to(sic) many chances.
  11. Can someone tell me what differentiates Cruz from, say, Brandon Sing?
  12. LOL @ the Browns They have a key young player get hurt for the year every year since I can remember.
  13. He's actually either real good, or mind-bendingly bad. But yeah, run support has been Jason's friend.
  14. I'm surprised this thread didn't get updates with the Van Slyke incident and an update on that other hispanic coach from earlier in the year.
  15. Why is that? Patterson's 2005 would serve as a benchmark for Colvin next year(although Colvin will be 6 months younger) and I have a hard time seeing him putting those numbers up. And that doesn't even consider that Patterson is a 2B and Colvin may be a corner OF.
  16. Sexy ++++++++++++ A little bit of hope for the future. He's, without a doubt in my mind, the Cubs second best hitting prospect and he's closing in (but not quite there) on my top 5. That seems high praise for a college draftee(21 at season's end) in short season A. I think I'd have at least Pie and Patterson above him.
  17. CFP during the '03 offseason had a great breakdown of it. It was fan interference, it should've been called such.
