  1. How about Josh Fields for Murton and McClain, and then we trade ARam for Aybar and Santana. Then we will resign ARam during the offseason and move Fields to LF. How you like dem apples? I'd do Fields for Jerome Williams, Matt Murton, and Wuertz Seriously? Done. I wouldn't do it, not a huge fan of Fields.
  2. ARGHHHH WALKER DOES NOT HAVE A BAD GLOVE. I DONT KNOW WHERE THIS IDEA CAME FROM BUT IT NEEDS TO STOP. *Head explodes* It's true, he's not a good defensive 2B. He's really not that bad. He's definitely below average, and no one said he was the worst in the league or anything like that(at least in this thread), just that he wasn't good.

  4. Hendry, for better or for worse, has shown an ability to make deals right at the deadline. The Lawton deal wasn't announced until the top of the hour, and the Nomar deal didn't become public knowledge until at least 10-15 minutes after the deadline.
  5. Go get him go get him go get him go get him go get him
  6. Shelton really cooled down after his scorching start. I don't know if he deserves to be sent down, but Casey is a strong pickup for them.
  7. I didn't realize that the deadline happened to fall on opposite day.
  8. That whole situation is like the twilight zone of GM ineptitude. The Astros craziness saved them from their craziness.
  9. Guzman is an inferior hitter though, you'd be gambling away a better player for the flexibility.
  10. Feirabend went to school about 10 minutes away from me. Is he still considered that good a prospect?
  11. Just to flesh out the fantasy a little bit... Say both those deals get made. Say we sign Trot Nixon and Craig Wilson. Wilson is a bit of a stretch since I doubt he signs to be a platoon guy, but hey, things have already gone well enough thus far, might as well go all out. 2B (Walker, Loretta, one year guy to hit leadoff to bridge to EPatt) Barrett Lee Nixon/Wilson platoon Jones/Murton platoon LaRoche Pie or Aybar Aybar or Pie Zambrano, Santana, Marshall, Marmol, Prior hard to stomach, but that should leave some money left over, so how about bridge to Pie with an incentive laden deal to Jed? The Cards are losing quite a bit of salary with Marquis, Suppan, and Mulder being FA's. Hard to see them not picking up his option at this point. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to getting a CF in that scenario though.

  13. Maybe, but his stock has fallen so much he just got sent down to AAA. That's just crazy. He was sent down for a rehab assignment. That's much less crazy. I can't believe I didn't put that together, I was just looking at his player card and saw he was on the DL.

  15. The SB% doesn't concern me as much as others because I'm not a big advocate of the SB(similar situation with Pie). What I like is that AYbar(and Pie) is plenty fast to take extra bases on batted balls, as well as be capable of the threat in certain situations, even though he may be unrefined technically.
  16. LaRoche? Third. Young? Second/outfield. Any more info on Young defensively? How good he is at 2B, could he handle CF, etc.?
  17. Which 3 player offer? Aybar, McPherson, Santana is only speculation on our part on what a good package would be for Ramirez. I think there were reports that Aybar, Santana, and another player that might've been Adenhart were offered for Tejada.
  18. Young wouldn't be a bad pickup. Best case scenario: Maddux for LaRoche and then make the rumored Ramirez deal. do you think LaRoche would be ready to step into a starting role next year? I'd imagine so, he's continuing his great play at AAA after being promoted.

  20. If these rating are on target, then Aybar is better than Cedeno. More than "slightly" better. The difference is that Aybar has not been exposed to ML pitching. Their weaknesses are basically the same. And that Aybar has had a significantly better career.
