  1. Mizzou tied 17-17 at the half. They've gotten hosed on a couple fumble calls, one where they blew it then couldn't find a good enough angle to reverse it, and another where they signaled touchdown, then reversed it to say that it was a fumble that went out of the endzone(which you cannot do, but they did).
  2. Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada is Navy's QB today.
  3. Play in a real league where you don't start 2 QB's. Start Rivers.
  4. Georgia losing 13-14 now. Did I mention it's their homecoming? Rutgers with an early FG against Navy.
  5. Georgia with another dominating showing at home. Up 13-7 on Vandy at half.
  6. 2 and half, but the sentiment remains. Oklahoma up on ISU early in Norman, and Cuse just held WVU to a FG to make it 10-7.
  7. It would be super awesome if kU was super high ranked for their trip to Columbia. Too bad we go to Lawrence first so there's more games that they could potentially lose before they try to break the streak at Mizzou Arena.
  8. I agree with Lyons, how is he supposed to know Jimenez isn't going to throw the ball? Go after him. Tigers up 2-0 early. Because he's facing left field and jumping off the base. Polanco was well outside of his rights as a runner anyway, he slid well wide and well beyond of the base.
  9. Bush league by Polanco, that's how people get hurt.
  10. Why make the last trade? Barrett is just as good if not better offensively than Wells, is signed for longer and cheaper, plays a position where offense is more rare, and you're tossing in two good prospects too. And even then you're trading Pie for Blanco, which has pretty much no advantage(Pie is younger, has more potential, is better now, is a long term piece, cheaper, etc.).
  11. I miss when Baseball Tonight was "have to see" I don't know if it was becasue I was young and stupid, or if the show's really gotten that much worse, but man I loved that show when I was younger. It used to be a baseball highlight show. Then it bacame a "rail against stats, talk about clutch/intangible/hustle, all style and no substance" show. Bang. Sportscenter is the same way. Stop talking and show us the highlights.
  12. Michigan State twice? Don't they know it's going to be the worst MSU team in a decade?
  13. What? He had a 3.59 ERA (126 ERA+), 1.26 WHIP, 7.59 K/9, 2.25 K/BB, and a .238/.310/.379/.687 line against.
  14. who the hell's putting up an .800 OPS? soriano put up a .900+ OPS in the toughest hitter's park in the bigs in the toughest hitter's division in baseball. i can't see his numbers going down much playing all those games in gabp, mmp, miller park, etc. i'm also intrigued by the fact that he doubled his typical walk total last season. i'd give him 5/75 and play him at 2b/cf...whichever he wants. That's the same thing people said about Beltre moving away from Dodger Stadium.
  15. ahahahaha, according to Tim McCarver: runner on 1st & 3rd, 2 outs > runner on 2nd & 3rd, 2 outs
  16. Why? Geoff Blum is a valuable Left-handed hitter off the bench. He can pretty much play anywhere on the field. He has some power in his bat, and he puts the bat on the ball. I love his versatility. Those things also describe Jose Macias. Blum has been terrible offensively for quite some time.
  17. Beltre's pre-career year career is nowhere close to Soriano's. He was also a free agent after age 25. At that age Soriano was playing his first big league season, .268/.304/.432
  18. It's official. 1:00, no TV It seems to be the year of the Tiger.....Woods, Detroit and maybe Missouri? I hope so, although it didn't help our volleyball team much last night. Stupid 8 foot tall Canadians.
  19. There's a valid point in overpaying for great production when it becomes available, like Beltran or Ordonez. Problem is Soriano hasn't shown near the consistency in that aspect, and only this year has he really lived up to his previous hype. I don't think he's a good gamble for that type of deal.
  20. It's official. 1:00, no TV
  21. The Yankees site says he has a 6 year old son.
  22. I have no idea. I can only hope that Anderson's system makes a big difference, and Keon Lawrence continues to score like a madman like he was doing during the summer. I think at the very least it will be more exciting to watch than last year, and I don't think it's possible to get blown out more often than we did last year.
  23. Lyons was so much better. "Give me players who can play baseball" It was at this point my roommate wondered if the alternative was Barbaro at catcher and Dale Earnhardt at 2B.
