  1. Lucky break that you can't challenge forward progress.
  2. Why? To see the creative ways they can get hurt?
  3. What on earth does this have to with Pujols? Unless you are saying rude to media = racist klansman. Just because a slighted journalist put it an article doesn't make it relevant. I agree. That comment is the most ridiculous and assanine I have ever seen on here. Wow, you are pathetic Voice.Seriously. The point made by the author (and that you obviously ignored) is simply pointing out the silliness of blind worship (whether it be Pujols, McGwire or Slaughter) by a group of fans, local media and an organizaton. Don't you think it's its "ridiculous and assinine" that a franchise named a room after a known bigot like Slaughter? Jackie Robinson was one of the most influential and courageous baseball players that ever lived. Naming a room after Slaughter is a slap in his face. What if Chicago named a room after Cap Anson? It's a ridiculous attempt to somehow denigrate St. Louis and it's fans.
  4. I really want to smack Kornheiser across the mouth.
  5. - No waterfront - No gambling - No French Quarter - No Disney No, not compared to the other Super Bowl sites. Why would they build a new stadium in KC?
  6. No joke. What are they going to put in the primetime slot? Miami-GT? What a shame. EDIT: Now it looks like regional coverage. Washington St.-UCLA and Tennessee-South Carolina. Is the Big 12 going to get a prime time game this year? Nebraska-Iowa State was a Saturday Night game two weeks ago. That's right, while Mizzou went to Texas Tech while both were ranked and played on TBS. ABC can't do anything right.
  7. What's wrong with Arrowhead, aside from it's lack of dome? The prospect of a Super Bowl isn't enough for a new stadium, especially one like Arrowhead that is in a fantastic locale.
  8. Not until 2011 at the earliest. Link
  9. I hate Bucker. It was so obvious last night that he didnt want to announce the game anymore after the Mets turned the game into a route. http://www.thephatphree.com/Features.asp?SectionID=2&StoryID=3061&LayoutType=1
  10. That and the old age. He is getting grumpy in his later years. Before long he'll be at the Dominican VFW rambling on and mixing up Spanish-American war stories and confrtontations with umpires.
  11. And the fact that it was a short series that really doesn't have much predictive value.
  12. No joke. What are they going to put in the primetime slot? Miami-GT? What a shame. EDIT: Now it looks like regional coverage. Washington St.-UCLA and Tennessee-South Carolina. Is the Big 12 going to get a prime time game this year?
  13. I'm guessing that's based off of when they think the NLCS will be over. Only the Trib would think someone would clinch tonight with the series at 2-2.
  14. So is Piniella going to improve the offense with his presence, or is he going to manage us into contention with one of the worst offenses in baseball?
  15. Georgia Tech looks like they may be the first team Charlie Weis has beaten that will end a season with less than 5 losses, excepting Navy.
  16. But he's under the team's control, so the team has that plus the precedent working against him. Ichiro was < 6 mil when he was posted the first year (3 years, 15 mil total), he didn't make 8 digits until he signed his new extension.
  17. His relative competence next to Steve Lyons.
  18. Thank you very much. Now I'm wondering how in the world Daisuke is going to get anywhere near 10 million per year.
  19. I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess I'd say no.
  20. Isn't the greater point that those hustling plays that performed well should be judged on their performance and not their hustle? The entire point is that productive players are better than hustlers. If a player hustles and makes himself productive that great and he should be applauded for it. If a player doesn't hustle as much and is still productive, he should also be applauded. If a player has great talent and crazy desire and hustle, he's michael jordan. oh wait, baseball. trying harder doesn't necessarily work. I don't know if you meant to convey this, but to add on, hustle is usually reflected in performance. The guy who runs out every groundball and gets on base an extra time or two, that shows up in measures of production.
