    I'd question the necessity or even utility or an "every down back" in today's NFL anyway. With Benson in tow, someone who can burn and catch some passes would be a great complement to him. And with the depth of RBs in this draft, the Bears might not even need to use a 1st or even 2nd rounder to get a quality player that fits that description.

    I don't like the variability of h2h and its more about gaminig the system than actually putting together a good team. I play roto and still monitor it everyday. I really like that I have an opponent in H2H. Playing against the field makes it very easy for me to lose interest, I don't have the attention span to focus on the minutiae needed to gain subtle advantages in Roto.

    Ward isn't a HR threat, but can drive the ball for extra bases as a LH PH, and Murton is fine as RH pop off the bench too. I'd want a RH stick for the OF if Murton gets dealt, but I'm not really worried about the bench not having pop.

    Highlights of today's game: Keon getting called for carrying when he pulled up for a jumper and didn't dribble after said carry, and DeAndre Jordan missing an oop by throwing it out of bounds, on the sideline.

    I found out that the TV with DirecTV has FSC and GolTV, awesome. Saw the end of Deportivo-Betis and realized that if I were ever in charge of soccer, that people who intentionally interfere with free kicks to stall will be thrown in a pit with Seth after we told him they were responsible for Dempsey's offsides. Honestly, there are fewer things that piss me off more than that, even in games where I have no personal interest in who wins.

    Mizzou got LOIs from all 23 of their commits, there's still a schollie open if someone wants to surprise them.

    Matt Hall, he's going to pick Arkansas. The only other name I've heard is an Arizona guy(yeah, I don't know either) named Gerell Robinson that we might be in on. That link has him as a verbal to Arizona State, but I guess there were rumors that his verbal was just for show or something. Doubt we end up with him.

    Why is that hard to believe? They were 6th in the based on record last season, and 2 teams were within 2 games of them. Some teams have improved, while some Cubs fans believe that the rotation really overachieved last season and is bound to regress. They were also 2 games from having the 3rd best record, pythag-wise. We can debate progression/regression for every team until the end of time, but the Cubs were relatively easily among the Top 8 teams last year, and they've improved the roster. It's irrationally pessimistic to have them as low as 8th.

    I was about to go pick up my sister from work or something, when Ramirez hit it and it went out I pretty much skipped through my house to the car. That may have been as excited as I was for a game all year.

    Haha, take that Beasleys. Nobody wins at Mizzou Arena. Except Kansas. And Nebraska when we have half our team. But except from that, NOBODY wins at Mizzou Arena.

    I can't believe there are this many people who have the Cubs as the 8th best team in the NL.

    I've only seen one Purdue game this year, so admittedly this is likely a terrible sample for a young and inconsistent team, but I'm surprised how much people like them. They flat out could not score in the half court when they came to Columbia. They do play very aggressive defense though.

    That jersey has grown on me, although I think it'd be awesome if the stripes were navy instead of red. Also, SBI is saying that Guzan's work permit for England got denied.

    Rough night for Berardini. One of 8 guys on the active roster and he still doesn't play.
