    Best athlete & best defensive player in the organization. Gap power & quick bat. .362/.410/.563/.973 in AAA at age 22. Improving walk rate and declining K rate as he ascends the upper levels.

    Actually this would be a gain of 3 as Gallagher, Pie and Cedeno are on the 40 man Net gain of 1, they lose Bedard and Roberts.

    Looking at FA CF possibilities, there's Lofton, you could get a RH platoon partner for Pagan/Fuld in somebody like Brady Clark or Nook Logan or Luis Terrero or Alex Escobar. Wilkerson's a FA too.

    I'm pretty sure that you can file all 3 of them under "abused". And Hendry's lack of contingencies for probable injuries is one of his greatest shortcomings(see the 2006 rotation). Fortunately, he seems to have learned a little from it.

    My excel calculations have given me good news. Thanks to Romo's sub-zero day and Detroit's defense going for -4, I think I'm up by about 17. I have Longwell tomorrow night and Wolf has AD. So go Bears defense and Chester Taylor.

    Yeah, with the news that Fukudome is very likely to play RF, Teahen is positionless on our team. I simultaneously love the idea of buying low on Greinke and fear him going Ankiel on us if we were to acquire him.

    Pagan is still around, and while he's not as good as Mench offensively, his presence means Fukudome doesn't HAVE to move to CF if Pie isn't playing.

    I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about someone getting bigger during a season. It's always the work they put in during the offseason.

    Of course there's a mental aspect to baseball. This road has been traveled before. You can't try to extract the "other side" or whatever from statistics. The mental aspect is reflected in statistics because they are simply what happened. If they didn't then the "intangible" isn't worth paying attention to.

    No one has LD% by split. And I have no idea why you'd want that anyway. To prove that once he starts to get hit, he gets lit up. I thought numbers told the whole story? That's a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's like asking for a team's record when they score fewer runs than the other team. No it isn't. I was asked to show numerically why I thought he struggled when others hit him hard and that's simply what I'm asking for. Yes it is. If Prior started to get hit and then was able to stop the bleeding, it wouldn't show up there, because he wouldn't have given up 4+ runs.

    What's even more staggering is that I'm pretty sure the vast majority of pitchers have worse numbers with men on base just because of the nature of the situation. Throwing from the stretch, good hitters coming after one another, etc.

    You are mistaken. EVERYTHING included, Prior made 15.725 million as a Cub from 2002-2007.
