    I'm more of an anti-DH guy, but something needs to be done to make whatever the decision the same in both leagues. Someone's getting an advantage simply based on the rules of the game, and that's no good.

    Coincidentally, Baseball Reference added a big update to their splits, which now include splits based on leverage. Soriano's career numbers: High leverage: .254/.317/.438/.755 in 780 PA's Medium leverage: .293/.334/.549/.883 in 2138 PA's Low leverage: .278/.319/.505/.824 in 1951 PA's

    Mario Chalmers is the best player in the country no one ever hears about. That shot was absolutely ridiculous. And an overzealous "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, AHAHAHA, AHA, HA" to Memphis choking their chance to ice it away at the free throw line. Also that stuff about Joey Dorsey. I'd say hate, but you kids have taken all the meaning out of the word. Hmmmm, I've got it. I megaloathe you, Joey Dorsey, now go pro so you can disappear into obscurity.

    I have to say I was a bit surprised to see him as the first B12 name on the list. From everything I've read though, he's simply putting his name in there to get feedback on where he stands, what he needs to work on, etc. Much different than, say, Thomas Gardner, who go swindled into signing with an agent.

    Compared to who? Theriot doesn't get to that ball and two runs score either way. I didn't say that Theriot would have gotten to that ball, but if he did, I doubt it ends up in the stands. The thing is, he wouldn't get to it, so the runner scores from second either way.

    Can someone talk to me about Marwin Gonzalez? 19 year old switch hitting shortstops in the MWL are a good thing, and he's off to a good start after a strong showing in Short Season ball. The only thing the search function provided was Ryno12 hearing that he probably wouldn't stick at SS. Is that true, and are there any other reports on his defense?

    I think seeing Livingston's injury is a little worse than crater knee. What's the plan of action for an injury like that though? Can you rebuild a kneecap?

    Theriot was every bit as bad as 2006 Cedeno last year, with the exception of one month. Let's stop pretending he's a known quantity to even be better than the worst Cedeno could possibly be. And this Pie stuff is mind numbing. Pie's shown an ability to adapt to every challenge he's faced as a professional hitter. Give him a chance to do so, especially since he provides amazing CF defense and a LH bat in the lineup. Stop getting mad at him because he looks worse than Theriot does when he fails. He's playing chess while Theriot plays checkers.

    DeRosa was breaking into the Major Leagues at the same age that Theriot was splitting time between Low A and AA(both with bad numbers, especially for his age). There's really no comparison.
