  1. Wellington Castillo, the best prospect no one talks about, has a HR for Tennessee. In about 50 PA's at AA, the 21 year old is hitting .333/.396/.535/.931.
  2. Attention Eric Patterson: foul balls from right handed hitters will tail back toward you. Also, you have sunglasses on your head.
  3. Pathetic part is that's down about 100 points from where it was only a week or so ago. That's the good part. Ludwick is hitting .254/.313/.493/.805 in June and .231/.294/.429/.723 the last 4 weeks.
  4. The career ERA+ of infinity is pretty impressive.
  5. They also have a ton of starters that are pitching well, and a really bad offense. Trading Harden wouldn't give them a true ace, but they're longshots to make the playoffs anyway without another bat or two.
  6. AH! Its Rothschild's fault. I just knew it couldn't be the beloved wunderkind Hill. How about maybe the previous year and a half were more of an aberration and the league figured him out? One good pitch, one average pitch and he wasn't able to be aggressive anymore. The league didn't figure him out, he was walking everyone because Rothschild changed his mechanics. MLB hitters were hitting .191 with a .683 OPS off him when he was sent down. Lots of assumptions going on here. Did Hill's arm slot change because Rothschild changed his mechanics? Or did Rothschild see his arm slot changed at the beginning of ST, so he tried to change his mechanics to get his arm back in the right slot? I'm certainly not going to give LR a free pass on it, but I'm not going to put the blame squarely on his shoulders quite yet either, because I don't know which is the true case. They said they changed it so Hill would be quicker to the plate, it wasn't a response to a new problem.

  8. Vitters singled in his last AB. .313/.353/.438
  9. Good to see some XBH from Vitters. Up to the minute line: .286/.333/.429
  10. They seemed to be more upset that a) Thome didn't bunt, or b) Ozuna didn't hit instead of Thome and bunt. And I'm not kidding.
  11. Dusty broke Harang with his idiotic extra inning shenanigans. Until he shows that he's not screwed up physically from that, I'd stay far away.
  12. Colvin has a double and a walk in 3 plate appearances thus far. Not a good outing for Russell: 4.2 IP, 5 R(4 ER), 5 H, 0/3 K/BB, 2 HR, and a fielding error. Marquez Smith with a double for Peoria, although he has left the game(injury?). Chen has been strong through 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 6/0 K/BB, 0 HR.
  13. Awful nice of Dotel to switch hands so Murton had a chance to get a hit.
  14. Gameday had that pitch almost at the letters.
  15. Very nice bounce back inning for Ted. Good to see he's still on pace to give us 6+ IP.
  16. As good as Harden is, he's still only thrown 200 IP the last 3 seasons combined. I'd say either dropping Ceda or swapping Pie for Colvin would be pretty good value for him.
  17. Beane and Hendry have made good trading partners in the past, both have made deals that turned out better for one(Barrett/Miller) or the other(Kendall/Blevins). Personally, I'd love Harden, although his injury history is long enough that his price should be less than Hill+Pie+Ceda.

  19. I wasn't watching the game last night, but I've seen Z on rare occasions pull out a super slow changeup on hitters(one particularly vivid memory of him getting the 3rd out on a K by that pitch). It could've been that.
  20. haha, they promoted Lansford? Whatever gets Marquez Smith to Daytona I guess.
  21. Who's Mark Buehrle? is the only one I can think of, and that came after a Sox player accused him of cheating.
  22. haha portugal, this is your penance for playing the diving game and making Jersey hate soccer
  23. I love the Summer Olympics for a couple reasons. First of all, we always win the medal count by a ridiculous number, since the games are essentially a "look how awesome/rich we are". Also, the Winter Olympics suck because everything is judged. Most of the Summer Games are races, no judges deciding crap. For most of the games I'll be back at school but classes will not have started yet, so I'm hoping to catch as much of it as I can. As far as personal tie-ins, my girlfriend will be at the games covering Cycling, so I suppose I need to follow those events.
  24. I'm watching the game right now, and one of the announcers said he hits a HR every 5.9 ABs in his career. :-& haha, that's not even close to being true. In his career, in the minors, against RHP, against LHP, as a Brewer, none of them even close to one HR per 6 ABs.
